M416: Project Beer Crawler

The superliner was easier to work with than I thought. I borrowed a Schultz gun from a buddy and just took my time. Turned out really good and about $400 cheaper than what the local Linex dealer wanted. I also like the texture better than Linex and Rhinoliner.

Did you build your lid/top. How do you like the Serengeti RTT?

thats good to know about the super liner , i will look into that,
do you have any close up pics ?

yes i did build the top/lid, and fenders , and tailgate, pm me with your email and i will send you my drawings,

the serengetti rtt, is wortrh every penny, and fernando is absolutly the best to deal with,

as a base camp you will not find a better set up IMHO, but it is large, when i have all the kids,, it is needed , myself and my 2 girls then the girlfriend and her 2 girls ,, yes me and 5 girls,, yes i am nuts,,

when its just the girlfriend and myself, we set a table and chairs in the ground room when the weather and /or bugs is bad, with room to spare, the fly is huge and offers oodles of protection , unless the rain is completely sideways the tent does not even get wet at all,,

there are times when i wish it were smaller , for the one nighters when you are in a hurry , but i have no regrets buying this one

The final lid looks great. Your M416 is way ahead of mine but I am following the same path with the frame, axle, SOA, and wiring completed. I am waiting until my lid is finished before I paint. Mine is being used to go back and forth to my hunting lease in AR.

Sorry, this is kind of a tangent.

Would you be able to relay the measurements of the vertical portions of the bed? Specifically how far from the bed to the angle out to the outer wall, and how far from the top of the bed to the start of the angle in?

Also, any idea on how thick the steel is for the trailer box?

Looking to fab a trailer box, and having a hard time finding those dimensions...

Thanks for any info or pointers

Been meaning to update. I'm still enjoying this little trailer. I've put a couple thousand miles on it since I got it and still constantly adding things to it like most of you guys. I've got an ARB Simpson III and have been happy with it so far.

I mainly use the trailer for camping and hunting trips as I'm into falconry and like to go out west where the big jack rabbits are. Hauling my dog and Red Tailed Hawk with all the gear fills up the jeep quickly. I need to add a receiver so I can mount by bike rack and grill on the back.

Looks great! Soon as the season is over (real soon here!) I plan on tearing down and redoing my M416.

Found a shop that will sandblast for $125 per hour. Should be around $100 to have the tub done. (what they charge for small pick up truck boxes) as long as I bring in just the tub.

Happy with that, as I got quotes from $350-$600+ for just the tub!

Great looking trailer, and nice work on it!

Any chance of any pics of the bird? My son is a Scout and has volunteered at a local wild life rehab, they had an osprey for a bit so I a may be on the hook for vet school in a few years.

This is my latest Red Tailed Hawk that I trapped at the end of last year. She's a female about about 14-15 months old and loves to hunt squirrels and rabbits. This is a pic of her getting some sun out in the yard.
