Man, I love fall

I took a trip to Montana two weeks ago and in the process, fell in love with Wyoming. Yellowstone is such a wonderful place - if you make the trip - plan on spending a week or you are going to miss a lot. Fall is a great time to go there - very few people, bugling elks, fuzzy bison and colors that will make you notice.

I am no photographer at all, but here are a few of my favorites from the trip. If you have any fall pics of Yellowstone, please post them!

God's existence is not without evidence.

The road to Old Faithful was closed due to a light dusting of snow. Otherwise everything was just fine.

It made me a little sad to miss Old Faithful and a little mad that the laws are geared to the lowest common denominator.

I spent 5 days in Yellowstone this spring. Old Faithful is not THAT impressive, you are not missing much. Base on your pics I feel what you saw is more impressive than it.
I really really want to go back to Yellowstone and explore Montana and Wyoming!

Those pictures make me wonder if it would be worth it to shovel snow to live where trees change colors? NOT!! Great to visit though.

I guess So Cal trees do change colors, from green to black:(

Yellowstone in winter is even more impressive. The contrast between the wildlife and the stillness of the cold frozen earth is amazing. Growing up in Wyoming I've done the Yellowstone thing at all different seasons. Winter is my favorite. I suppose a lot of that has to do with the lack of tourists.

Thanks for the idea! Guess I will have to make the 5 hour drive up there in a couple of months and see that first hand!!!
