Manually operated recirculating toilet

I've owned a Thetford Electra-Magic recirculating toilet and liked it. These ones look very rugged.

That's a nice find. Gotta be huge, though, I would think, and probably expensive.

It'd be a good way to one-up those people (like me) overly proud of the marine stuff in their campers. Locomotive stuff; yep, that's the new way to go. :sombrero:

I was wondering about the dimensions. Says it's tested to 550 lbs. There must be some extra-large locomotive engineers out there. I sent them an e-mail asking about them. A found a resume online of the guy who designed the poly version and it was called 'inexpensive'. Don't know exactly what that means when it comes to locomotive ****ters.
The Thetford Electra-Magic runs around $500 new. This might be competitive. If the size is right, it would at least double the black tank capacity in my Texson/Northstar T1000.
I need to find a locomotive engineer with experience who can comment on their usefulness and smelliness. I was very happy with my Electra-Magic.

The railroadtoilets.com 199000toilet sells for $975 and it weighs 51 lbs. Haven't heard back from Dayton-Phoenix.

Dayton-Phoenix finally replied. Their toilets run between $600-900 depending on the model. I don't think that's a bad price given the fact that you're getting a 15 gallon black tank designed to be serviced one a month.
Now all we need to do is find some locomotive engineers who have used them a lot to give us an opinion on their functionality. Anyone know any locomotive engineers willing to be forthcoming?
