Maps for 276c - NT version or not?

Hi all,

Time for me to upgrade the maps in my 276c (2009 version is out now), however I'm seeing conflicting information. Before I contact Garmin I thought I would ping the gang

I've always thought that the 276c was NOT NT map compatible (it used the non-NT compression maps). However, if you look at the Garmin listing for the City Nav NT and the drop-down on the right side for compatibility, the 276c has now been moved to NT compatible.

Is it NT compatible? It makes a big difference to the size of the maps

Looking through the 276c version updates there is a small mention of adding City Navigator support in v5.10. Not sure if this changed something...

Pete, I cannot vouch for newer versions, but I run City Navigator 2008 NT on my 276c. I suspect 2009 would work as well.

Update: got an e-mail reply from Garmin as well and they confirmed NT maps work on the 276C now. (exactly what Chris said)

However, if you go NT, you have to stick with NT for all upgrades in the future. You can't switch back to non-NT.
