maybe they're working too hard at the Jeep factory

This 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sahara was shipped to a dealer in Pennsylvania recently. See the problem?

Maybe the SUV was damaged in transit? Or maybe harlequin Jeeps are the next big thing?

This photo appeared in the dealer's eBay ad for the vehicle here

Very funny, Haven.

As a fan of old British iron (a 1962 Triumph TR-3B in the garage), and a long-term Jeep owner (a 1988 Cherokee XJ in the driveway), this makes me smile.

But what made me laugh out loud was a post on the Triumphs list the other month from a guy, now retired, who worked for Triumph in the 60s-70s. Makes this Jeep look like nuthin'!

"Well if it helps to bring you a bit nearer to reality, the Production Control computer system at Canley in the late 1960's and early 70's didn't bring up error messages *at all.* This is why on odd occasions - and certainly through operator* error, we saw:

A Herald convertible with a LHD instrument panel and a RHD pedal layout

A Toledo (which later became the Dolomite 1300 in 2 and 4 door versions) with two doors on the RH side and one on the LH side

A 2000 saloon (which was rwd) that tried to get married to a Triumph 1300 fwd engine and tranny assembly. Interestingly, those respective cars were built on different assembly tracks and the arrival of the various items at 'premount' automatically stopped the tracks for almost a day while the computer people tried to sort the program error to enable a re-start.

A Spitfire with disc wheels on the front, wires on the back and one of each in the boot."

I once saw a brand-new Suburban on a dealer's lot, that had Chevrolet badges on one side, and GMC on the other.

When I did inspections at a new Ford dealer years ago, I found quite a few problems. Rangers with Mazda steering wheels, a Taurus with a Mercury wheel, another Ranger with a Mazda key, interior panels missing...... I was (and still am) shocked at how a vehicle can make it all the way to the dealer before this is discovered.
