Good day guys,
the S6-65 gearbox is a 6-speed manual. I am looking for the gear ratios for this type of gearbox. Anyone can assist please?

The S6-65 is a ZF product, used ~2 decades ago in Ford and GM pickups and other applications. ZF has a downloadable catalog of all its products.
Perhaps if you were to use Google a bit, you might find something using the actual MB designations: G56 & G85.
Edit: the versions of the ZF S6-65 used in American light trucks have different gear ratios than the version(s) in the ZF catalog. In my catalog the S6-650 is superseded by the S6-700. But all have overdrive 6th gear.

Looks like most end on 1:1 which defeats the purpose of my exercise to get something with an overdrive.
Thanx for the feedback

It would be nice to fill the horrible gap between 3rd and 4th. I Could never understand MBs choice of a 5 speed for these trucks.

We have the same issue with our 1222A. Flat out at 90 kmh. We are looking at two options.. A ZF 10 speed or an Alison auto which I’m told has a double overdrive top gear which would give us an extra 20kmh.

Most of the trucks with splitters had a .85 top gear. From what i've seen the standard transmissions are 1:1. Isn't there an ID plate on the gearbox? I've seen that a few times.

I've got the Alison auto in my MAN 18.220. Sits on 100-105 quite easily though it's empty at the moment, waiting to see how it runs once camper weight is added
