Just so you know how tough these Mercedes are (besides being 5/7th of all the taxis in 'less-developed' countries) I believed this is a video of Deleted Member 183 leaving a secret Baja surfing spot being chased by Federales in its 'sister' vehicle (a sedan instead of a wagon). A bonus is this wagon has the Bundt wheels, so it probably would not have flipped at the end.

Hopefully @Deleted Member 183 gives us all GPS coordinates to said secret Baja surfing spot and posts them and pictures all over the internet so other "influencers" go there too and post about it.

LOL!!! You guys got me laughing so hard i just about spilled my breakfast Tequila!

Regarding the wagon, after dealing with a "wad" of boneheads that have inquired about the car ( WOW, $2600 for a Mercedes wagon cool! I'm going to hitchhike down to SLO and drive it back to Santa Cruz!) and having to es'plane that project car means it need to be trailer'd away and worked on. I think I may just "tuck it in" and save it for a future project.

Pretty sure you can find those Benze wagons throughout Europe. Most farmers had one and used them as the farm pickup.

In 2017 I found a one owner 78 240D in Jacksonville, Oregon.
It had 107,000 miles on it.
The original owners did a European delivery on it and I have all the paperwork from new.
She's a beauty, ordered with a 4 speed manual, no A/C, electric windows and sunroof.
They added an auxiliary 15 gallon fuel tank for the trunk so they could make the
annual trip to southern California without stopping for fuel.
I've driven it 986 miles before refueling and the reserve light hadn't come on yet.
It's still up at the farm and will probably outlive everyone here, the W123 is one of the longest lasting vehicles made.
