Messanger Bag/Briefcase

I am going to have to look into Crumpler, I see they are a Canadian company which I find pretty cool. Just need to find a shop that I might be able to have a look at them in person.

Forgot about Crumpler. Had one of those too but it was a photo only bag. I really liked it for the first week and then it just bugged the heck out of me. The design directed rain water directly into the bag. Sold it on Kijiji. There are some new designs that have potential, but they still look a lot like Timbuk2.

Crumpler isn't Canadian though - it's Australian (Melbourne).

I also forgot about Eagle Creek. My first work upgrade from the old MEC messenger was an Eagle Creek. It went on countless flights with me and out of all the bags I have it has held up the best. I still use it sometimes. There are some nice new ones but the price has increased to the point where you're competing with nice leather.

Tom Bihn = nice stuff, but no personal experience.

When I got my new job last year I needed a laptop/briefcase type bag. Although I like the sweet leather saddle bags, I just could not afford it at the time (justifying it was not a problem, I can justify spending money on almost anything....which is probably why I couldn't afford the expensive one. :) ) Anyway I chose this one It's the basic REI Transit Laptop bag. I really like it. The color gives it a slight "professional" look, big enough for a laptop, some files, my notebook and my samich lunch. :) It's pretty close to water proof, even the zipper which it important when you work at ski resorts. The Handle is very good, thick enough to get a good grip, but yet not to bulky. The strap is good, but could be a tad longer. Padding is good, and plenty of pockets to organize everything.

I know it's not the "cool, everyone should have it" bag, but I really, really like it.

Cheers,
JSP

Check out RedOx. I think they are a portal sponsor... they have some pretty durable gear, and I believe they have a messenger bag... I'm going to check. Yup, 2sizes

I switched from a Dell laptop briefcase over to this back pack and love it. The Mountain Hardware logo is descrete enough to use for work. It is the Enterprise model.
