Funny you should mention that... I just received a box full of E-series harnesses so I can build a complete module programming setup without having to mess with my already-completed harness for the conversion.

That's Sweet! Where ere you able to find a spare Harness?
I find a lot of stuff via Ebay. In this case the seller had a listing for something different but the description implied that they had a lot of van parts. I emailed them and asked about harnesses and they had what I was looking for.
There's one thing for sure about the E-series... there are a lot of them out there. Lots of vans means lots of parts in circulation.
I just finished reading through this whole thread. I can only say two things. You Sir, are a genious and my head hurts. Great work. Can't wait to see the finished product.
I've got most of the electrical stuff on the Cummins conversion sorted out enough that I can shift my focus for a little while and start working on mounting the drivetrain. I'm using Solidworks as much as I can because once I finish getting a mock up of the engine measured and placed in the virtual world, making engine mounts and other brackets is a piece of cake.
Here I've done an overlay of E-series line drawings into the 3D model of the van frame. My crude Cummins mock up is dimensionally correct with respect to the engine mounts and oil pan and sits in the frame approximately where I plan to put it for my conversion (this is a rough placement though...still a lot of measuring to do and tilt to be added in...)
The line drawings came out of the body builders book. They're just screen captures that were placed into the model and sized to match known dimensions. Pretty awesome for visualization purposes if nothing else.

How difficult would it be to transplant the Cummins engine in your model for a 5.0 (coyote) with a tremec 6 speed...? I am curious if it would even work in a van. I do know it would make for one long package, and I wonder if the shifter would even be in a feasible location.
(Sorry if my forum etiquette is not up to snuff, I have never really gotten involved in formus due to the seeming politics of such, until Your's and Ujoints pages seemed so friendly and everyone treated everyone with respect. Please do not hesitate to give me a quick education on such if need be.)
I'm ok answering basic questions about off-topic things in my thread every once in a while. If you want more detail than what I'm about to provide though, please contact me off-line and I'd be happy to talk more about it.
Somewhere in my files of awesome things I've gleaned from the internet, I do have a CAD model for a 5.0L Coyote. The trans model exists somewhere but whether or not it is easily attainable is another story. With models in hand, the exercise of putting them in the model of my frame and picture overlays is easy. Any brackets or custom parts made from there are also relatively easy since you're building them off of known features within the CAD. The shifter location could be a problem but you won't know until you get some measurements. I'm not sure how long the whole package would be but I'm guessing not as long as a 6.7L Cummins and Allison...
I've had visions of a lot of engine swaps and I can honestly say that the 5.0L has crossed my mind a couple times... but not in an E-series van. If you wanted an engine with tons of power in a vehicle that is too heavy and handles poorly, why don't you just buy a Hellcat?
I kid, I kid...:sombrero:
If I were doing a gas engine swap in an E-series, I might attempt a Raptor drivetrain before anything else. I know that Quadvan was working on one of these swaps for a customer but that was a couple years ago and I've not heard a thing about it since.
