MG Metalworks Van Build

They say to wait 24 hours between application of materials and then let dry. It drys pretty fast in this heat. I could unmask everything by the end of today if I wanted but I'll just wait until Monday

The down side to our fast food generation...

Be glad you're not following one of my threads. My Fj40 is 25 years in the making. The Ambo, 2 so far, and I've essentially only been getting it reliable so far.

Hahaha!! Lots has happened (cleaning, painting, powdercoated parts installed, engine is in, fuel tank is in, battery boxes mounted, underside of body has been lizard skin'd, dog house has been sound deadened, etc...) but I've not taken the time to sit down and post pictures. I supposed I can carve out a few minutes to post a couple teaser shots sometime this weekend...

I am hoping to have the fuel lines and brake lines in tomorrow and weld up/install the exhaust end of day Sunday. Ordering parts now to make up all the battery cables for next week.

I can see the finish line now. If all goes well, it could be running inside of a few weeks. I'm certainly excited about getting it on the road but I'm equally excited to start on the interior. The Year of the Van is gonna close out with some huge surprises!!! :)

Got to say I'm disappointed with the lack of updates.

Quiet you. He's working on a ridiculous conversion that the rest of us could only dream of figuring out how to do let alone having enough money to buy something like he's creating. Throw on top having a family and getting a new fab company off the ground as well. Oh yeah, and he's working on the parts for my lift kit too! I'll wait for updates and my parts. A man is only a man and there are only so many hours in the day. Greatness takes time and patience is virtue.

"engine is in" I like how you buried this in the middle. Did you apply Lizard Skin directly to the doghouse?

I seem to remember MG saying that he used a hoodliner type deadener for the doghouse. The Lizard Skin went on the underneath side of the van body.

Oh, and the drivetrain looks so **************' in the cleaned up frame... ;)
