I was wondering around on GovLiquidation, and found that they have an auction for 14 Coleman-type military stoves (and a bonus deep fryer). Anybody wanna spearhead a group buy?

14ea Gasoline burner stove, Model # M1950, Field style with seperate hinged windshield, Specific gas for which designed is leaded gasoline and white gasoline;

GL Auction Link.

Starting bid is $150 ea.

Bidding starts on 06/07.

Location is Oklahoma City.

No connection, yadda yadda. I'd like to have one, but don't have the fun coupons right now. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Added: In case you are unfamiliar with GL Auctions, be warned:

BUYER'S PREMIUM: ( top )

1. We charge a buyer's premium of 10% of the bid amount on all purchases. The buyer's premium is considered a taxable amount, and will be taxed at the appropriate rate depending on the location of the property. Buyer's premiums are standard in the auction industry, and should be factored into your bidding strategy.

There are some very similar albeit noticably a likely older design at one of our local mil surplus outlet (GANS in T-Ville for the locals). I want to say they were in the $50 range?

If someone does pull the trigger on these, I'd be in for one.

OMG. Those are "Field Sterilizers". Very rare and hard to find.

The stove is more like a primus than Coleman, but has 2 burners, burns any kind of gas. The case is actually the 'pot', and should have a perforated rack to put whatever you're sterilizing in and lift it out. They're also good for cooking hotdogs ;)

I guess I should have mentioned that they are used for sterilizing surgical/dental equipment. Fortunately, GL isn't requiring the 'FDA Release' form on these, like they do on other medical/dental equipment. I've seen 'em require it on those nice aluminum storage boxes that everyone wants, even though the medical equipment has been removed, and the auction is just for the box. Problem with that the FDA form is it makes it difficult to resell or 'export' stuff... An international traveler could run into problems.

I'll bet the two burners could be used with smaller pots. I'm assuming that you can control each burner separately, but that may not be the case... SunTzuNephew, do you happen to know? Maybe with a valve installed between?

Might make a good field expedient deep fryer or crab/crawfish pot if it does come with the basket...

Also should have mentioned that I do accept finders fees, or would gladly take one of these units for free if anyone on here does buy 'em and feels overly generous. :victory:

There's a valve on each burner. It's a nice size - around 12-14" across, IIRC. Is the perforated basket missing? That's the only 'medical' piece in it. The pot is a bit shallow for deep frying, I think...but you could boil shrimp in it. And these days, they're self fueled :)

Looks like someone scored the lot of 15 units for $595.55 (plus buyer's premium, plus tax, plus plus...).

Anyone on here?
