Military Blood bank 60 quart freezer/Fridge 12-24v dc 115-240v ac

I was approached by a board member here to sell my fridge and since I have used it three weekends in the past three years I decided to let it go. Unfortunately that member evaporated into the woodwork. Fridge is priced @ $700.

This is an $8500+unit. I bought it new in the box from the goverment. It is built into a hardigg case and has two batteries that it can run 24 hrs on in freezer mode or all weekend in fridge mode. In my opinion this is the ultimate overlander unit if you have a full size rig or trailer. The fridge weighs 140lbs so once loaded moving it around requires a second person. I have all the stuff that came with the fridge still in the bubble wrap, the manuals in print as well as on cd, an ac power cord, and a dc power cord. The fridge has its own battery charger so when its plugged in to a power source it charges the batteries. So for instance if you had this in your rig on a switched dc circuit it would charge while the rig was running and then run off its own batteries when the rig is turned off so no battery drain on your rig.

Here is information from the manufacturer's site. The AcuTemp AX56L (formerly HemaCool® ) mobile refrigerated unit is designed to safely store and transport temperature sensitive blood, plasma, vaccines and other pharmaceuticals under the harshest environmental conditions. This versatile insulated shipper precisely maintains stable and accurate temperatures with dual setting capability for +4°C (+44°F) (refrigeration) or -20°C (-22°F) (freezer) operation. Its ergonomic, rugged design makes the AcuTemp AX56L ideal for delivering lifesaving medical supplies quickly and safely to the point of need, whether in a mobile hospital or in the battlefield.

I replaced the batteries on this unit just because I wasn't sure what their shelf life is and wanted it to be 100% readyto go @ any time. Here's a picture of the display screen taken today ATTACH=CONFIG]140886[/ATTACH]

I got a shipping quote to Denver from Fedex ground and it was $122. As long as the prospective buyer is willing to pick up from a fedex location cost is reasonable.
If interested please email me doug@dividingcreekimports.com please don't pm me as I don't check this forum regularly and I'm cross posting this unit on a couple of other forums and want to be fair to the first interested party.

Great product- I had a couple, and while Doug isn't a regular on here, great stand up guy- all the best my friend!!

Hows the rehab going Dale ?

One of the points I didn't make about this unit is that unlike the other 12v units on the market which are standard cold plate designs this is convection cooling which results in far faster cool down and more even cooling. a more rugged versatile unit doesn't exist.

Do you have pictures? Also. Is it weatherproof to the point that it could be used in the bed of a truck and in the elements?

AX56L_Open-closed_vert.jpgIt is weatherproof. The military regularly simply set these on the ground. The olive drab external case is weather resistant- I wouldn't leave it where it would be subject to a foot of wet snow in a truck bed but otherwise it can take constant exposure.

Getting there Doug, just really underestimated the magnitude of reconstruction. First 6 weeks is just healing cut muscle/tendon, then the real rehab gets underway.
How is life on the farm? I am guessing you are enjoying life once again...
Cheers my friend!!

Dale,
Man that sounds brutal. I imagine that put all your projects on hold like that 130 ?

Living in a 230 year old house/ construction site has its challenges.

Hope to see you @ Uwharrie in April.

Cheers,
Doug

Doug, that was me that was emailing you about this. We're trying to build our Volvo Tgb111C on a tight budget, remember? I'm Donny, the guy who you helped import our truck from Sweden through New Jersey, the vet with brain cancer?

I've been emailing you all along asking about this unit, but I guess they got caught in the spam filter or something.

I'm sorry, I meant to get back to you. Love the unit, and the built in batteries. The actual usable space seems small. Undecided for now...

Hey Donny- any pics of the Volvo? Build thread? Hope all is well with you my friend.

Well Doug, never fails- building a sold 110 Tdi, have a TReK inbound for restoration, and a CT110 inbound for repower- keep me in mind if you know of a very nice 200 engine!! Thanks goodness I have some good help!!
Hope to see you in April too- that would be awesome! Just FYI, sold the JK and went LR3, and building a civi version of a RSOV110 after seeing Stephens... and of course the 130 project is feeling neglected, but all paint done and ready for reassembly.
Cheers

Still fighting cancer. Hopefully starting our build thread soon. I have most of the parts I need for adding the FlipPac to the roof, (accept the torsion bar and crank handle), new side windows, looking for a rear bench/bed in case we get some company, (grand kids). Here's a pic:

I will keep you in mind, buddy. I miss our talks. Make a post about what you've been up to, I'm sure folks would be interested.

I advertised it as 60 quarts as thats where the size break of others on the market is. Its actually 61.7 quarts useable so larger than most other brands of freezer/fridges on the market.

Maybe my question will help with a sale.

How is this unit a convection style? I checked the website but could not readily find something on the internal design. I will be glad to delete my question if you send me a PM as i don't want to pollute your sale thread. :)
