Just realized these are 142 lbs.!

Ya i figured the batteries to run it for 48 hours had to weigh a bit. Add in the computer to track the temp = one heavy, but VERY cool fridge. I guess it would make for a great base-camp unit but for overland travel where space an d weight are issues, i am not too sure.

Sorry if the ebay link doesn't work. I have no idea why the link to my photo gallery isn't working I cut and pasted this ad from my posting on the D90source.com and that may have disabled the links. @ this point the two I have have been sold-thanks for the 23 pm's. My friend also bought a number and is willing to sell one of his for the same price I will put the next person in line in touch with him.

For the ebay link- search hemacool if you want to see the used ones someone has for sale there- unfortunately they are quite a bit more.

Dendy- you need a parking brake in your 110 worse than you need one of these. Glad the rock wall stopped it.

looks like they're all sold.

if the new owner ever decides to part with this for some reason, I will buy it from you.

The cut & paste is the reason your links aren't working. Looks like the other site took some characters out of the links and replaced them with "..." to save space. The links you have here need those extra characters.

Greetings all,

I am new to this board but some folks here will know me. I was in on this group buy and have one for sale also. I plugged it in last night and hooked up the batteries. The batteries quickly charged to 100%. It ran down to -23c in freezer mode, and my fingers were sticking to the baskets inside. I set it to fridge (cool) mode this morning before I left for work and unplugged the unit. It uses pretty standard batteries similar to what I have seen in the UPSes for commercial alarm and other systems. Inside the Hardigg case the components are held together on a tig welded steel frame. These things are really bulletproof for long term travel in rough conditions. The battery backup is just a great feature that I will miss.

These also appear to be completely serviceable with plenty of room to access the various components inside, and they include a comprehensive service manual as well as an operation manual. Additionally they come with a screwdriver, a sponge, and 10 replacement air filter elements.

I'd like to get a little more than $750 and was thinking about putting it up on ebay for auction. But I'd rather see it go to someone in an established community. I'll say $900 plus shipping? Figure anywhere from $150 to $200 for shipping in the lower 48. or local pickup if you are close to DC. I've added a few photos with the lid off and can take more if anyone wants.

Many thanks,
Dave in DC

Wait a minute - am I reading this right that you're trying to sell one of your fridges on another guy's post for MORE money than what he was selling them for a couple of days ago? That's kinda messed up...

I would like to be able to carry one of these and $750, (NOT $900!), seems quite reasonable but what is everybody driving to be able to carry around a 142lb refrigerator?? (Could be 200lbs when loaded!)

I hear, ya, thanks for the feedback. Perhaps some explanation is in order. I am friends with the original poster and was in on the group buy. I waited until all the $750 fridges were sold before posting mine. I thought the guys were nuts for letting them go @ 750. This is a 59 quart fridge/freezer with battery backup. I have yet to see anything comparable in that price range. So I'm not really sure why it is messed up other than the fact that I want more $$$. I've left it open to offers as I always do.

As for the weight, thsi would be better for a 109 or 110" wheelbase LAnd Rover, or something larger like a 101, or other make of vehicle like a larger US or Toyota P/U, camper body, etc. It would also fit nicely on a heavy duty offroad trailer. Alas it is a bit large for my 90.

So, apologies to anyone including Doug if my ad rubs you the wrong way. Open to offers and thanks for the bump :)

Best,
Dave

Considering the only ones out there now are $3500, used, on ebay, I don't see that complaining at $900 is fair. $750 was a steal and the stream of people lining up at that price is proof. $900 is still a steal. Ren Ching is a good guy and I have done business with him numerous times.

Ok, point taken.

Just thought the guy might wanna be cool to the "Expo Community" that he gets free advise from and not try and make a buck off of them.

Yeah more than one person told me I was a fool for selling them @ that price. FWIW each of us bought these as individual lots and no two sold for the same price. I just ran mine for two days in fridge mode on the internal batteries so they really will do that. They have a digital thermometer and digital battery tender/minder. Once you get past the weight issue these are pretty much the ultimate unit. Very happy with mine.
