I like driving my Toyota. But I hope to never drive a million miles in my entire life -- let alone in 15 years!!

My folks bought a corola wagon in 74. they gave it to my brother in law with 475,000 miles on it. he sold it to his cousin for $500. last we heard 8 years ago the car had 680K and was running dominoes pizza delivery in Ft Lauderdale. All original engine. a few timing chains but rest was all regular service work.

We had a 76 Corolla which my mom picked up in 78 with 25,000 miles. 1.6L and 5spd.

She drove it, my brother drove it, and then I drove it.

When I sold it in 96, it had 250,000 miles on it. Everything worked great except the A/C. I sold it to a guy in TJ for $300 because I could no longer smog it in CA due to the 49 state legal carb my brother put on.

The only thing that ever went bad on that thing was the carb and the A/C.

In 2000, the car was stolen and siezed at the border with 78 lbs. of Marajauna in it. My buddy called me to tell be since I was the last registered owner:Wow1:

It had 350,000 miles on it:victory:

I would have kept that car for another 5 years if I could have smogged it.

Gee, and I though I rather drive a lot!!! At the current rate, it would take me about 30 years to reach 1,000,000 miles. (which would equal retirement at 69, might be a plan :hehe: )

I learned to drive on a green '76 Corolla Hatchback. It was very reliable, but did not reach any significant amount of miles; it rusted out rather fast due to all the salt used on the Swiss roads back then.

Funny though: I salvaged the front seats and used them in two more cars, a Fiat and an Alfa Romeo; even though the Corolla itself just made about 80,000 miles, the seats made close to 200,000 :xxrotflma
