Dream it build it
crank it and pore a little gas down the carb...if it runs...

hit the gas to floor does gas squirt in the carb? if not no fuel in bowls...

Check it has fuel pressure going in carb (undo the line see if it sprays fuel should be 6-10psi max for carb)

Here are the manuals on the delica site:
http://www.delica.ca/forum/l300-dedicated-category-reference-forum-78/

here is the fuel manual seems to be for MPI or Diesel:

Unfortunately i am out of town for the rest of the weekend, if you had replied this morning i could have changed my plans.
The backfiring through the carb sounds like a spark plug wire got plugged into the wrong position. Check and double check that the distributor is working correctly and the firing order is correct- that is likely what the "small explosions" are. Any vacuum leaks should be tracked down as well.
Verify that fuel is coming out of the tank and it isn't rust clogged.
Verify that the carb is getting fuel from the pump.
Try adding a small amount of gas to the carb to get it to fire up the engine. If it does then it is definately a fuel issue and you need to determine if it is before or in the carb.
I wish that i could have been better help for you.
Good luck

Thank you ! we did what you said.
there`s gas in the carburetor and there´s spark in sparkplugs.
the carburetor made little explosions. The failure is like it is out of timing.
I think that is a problem in the distributor.
Now we are trying to find a mechanic.

Thank you!!
