The large piece is the divider between front seats and back cab. Not sure if I will reconfigure it or toss it out and leave the floorplan open. The small piece was tucked under the ALS board. At least I think thats what its called. It also opened up more space. The jump seat was bolted to the top.

The drivers side mirror got trashed when the people I bought it from drove it down. Flat tire and it kicked up. It was a manual mirror on the pedestal mount. I replaced both sides with power mirrors even though I dont have power. I think they look cleaner and more modern. I also didnt feel like doing the four post mod to mount tow mirrors I have.

Four post tow mirrors. Require a few mods. I just didnt think it was worth the trouble.


Ive read mixed reviews on installing them. Drilling, sizing up the bolts and replacing stuff. They also weigh a lot more.

I like my old school west coast mirrors. Also there are holes in the doors for the supports so I'm just keeping them. I'd swap to those^ tow mirrors if I was trying to look modern or blacked out.

Yea. Im focusing on the interior. Solar. Fridge. Sink. Flooring. The last things on my list are blacking out the Alcoa rims. Mirrors. Tint. Etc. cosmetics will have to wait lol.

It was indeed built custom for Running Springs. Was registered under Running Springs Water District and was used by Running Springs Aux. Fire Dept A51.

Its my OCD nature I suppose. Por-15 on the back of the wood and metal, two coats. Nice. Clean. And never have to think about it again.

Cleaning with a new steam machine and wand. Its awesome!! When the old vinyl flooring was pulled up. Some of the subfloor can up in threads and made it uneven.

I used self leveling compoung from a jar. I think getting the powder and mixing it with water would give smoother results. Ill have to retouch and sand some areas.

Here is the front to back divider. Haha!!! Not anymore! I took my circular saw to it. It looks easy but is a lot work and hidden screws to undo.

I plan to reshape and reuse.

Also plan to use the Traffic Master underlayment under the Life Proof plank flooring. Either that or 1/4 or so rubber mat.

Major work done. It was a lot of work, but the floor it completely smooth now. I started with 36 Grit and finished with 120 Grit.

First two floor photos are prior to sanding. And thats my dad tagging along.

Yes!! Bernies Auto Upholstery has redone the damaged drivers seat bottom. ? Its an awesome shop.

For the side bolster and front lower seat panel, they removed the lower foam. Placed backing onto the foam. Then sewed in original fabric they had on hand. It was a huge eye sore before and everytime you got in and out the foam would crumble from the bolster. ?

Steam cleaning. Grinding. Cleaning. More grinding and metal prep for the front floor pan. Lots of work and honestly a pain in the ass but it will be done right and it does feel good knowing that.

Yes. More cleaning and prep. And finally a layer of Por-15. It took so much time to prep for the Por15 I only had enough time to do half the floor pan.

I bought their kit that covers 36 sq feet. Degreaser. Metal Prep and Por15 black. I also bought a silver top coat that goes over the black Por15. It might be overkill and Im not sure if Ill top it off with silver.

The disc poly wheel works way better than a wire brush wheel. And doesnt build up heat. A wire brush wheel that is small is needed for tight areas. But I was able to safely cover ground with the Poly disc. I also used red not green scrubbing pads to clean the metal with metal prep to to get into every little nook.

This week I hope to finish out the front floor. Lay insulation and butyl mats down.

If you see the drivers side behind where the front seat is. There are a bunch of wires. Mostly communication stuff I wont need. I also have two battery chargers. Weird. But I dont want to pull any wires without tracing them out

Wow. Its almost done!! The floor pan anyways? The amount of cleaning. Grinding. Cleaning. Scuffing. Steam wand cleaning whoah! Just to get ready for POR-15 and do it right. Is paying off!

Passenger side now has two coats. Drivers half one coat so far. I have a welder coming by to patch in a new panel under the accelerator. Someone must have had wet boots!! The panel has worn thin. And well I could just slap some por15 and carpet over it. But its not my style. Thats the bare patch and two pin holes through it where the black paint dots are.

One of my two Kussmaul battery chargers. This one is located right behind the drivers seat.

The official stamp from Advanced Four Wheel drive systems. Leaf springs in front, Dana 60 with 4:10 gears. Identical to rear axle. I can go 75mph, no hands and it tracks perfect, even over transitions and bumps at that speed. Although I usually keep it around 60mph to keep rpms at around 1900 or so.

The aux high idle control also works when parked.
