Money Burning a Hole...

Now getting the whole axle swap is a very lucrative idea...I'm going to have to research that. That might leave me with enough money to replace my dented rear bumper.... :D

If you try the e-locker make sure you get the whole rear end...the TRD OR has a different differential so just getting the third would not work. The wiring is really easy to get the locker to work.

The ARB has the added benefit of on-board air though.

I am with everyone else and say use the money on an awesome trip.

I know that I would have to replace the whole rear end. Because my truck currently has a 8.4" rear end, and the Off Road has a 8" rear end.
The added benefit of having a OBA is phenomenal, and I have heard other ppl who are nervous about possible failures of the air lines.

You can pick up a whole rearend at a salvage yard for five-six hundred bucks.

You could send me the money and I'd use it for a great road trip, and then you would not have to decide how to use it. ;)

AFAIK, All 2005+ Toyota trucks come wired for all options in the main wiring harness so an E-locker rear swap should be virtually bolt on and plug and play. It's all been done before, check tech sections on TTORA etc

What suspension are you running?

Fridge?

Except for those mods, I say road trip! :ylsmoke:

I have Kings, uca's and an aal in the rear. Don't have a fridge yet, I would like to upgrade the rear suspension to the OME leaf pack and I prob should start looking at getting a rtt. So many things to get so little $$. I just want the basics for now hence the locker and regear, and poss a rtt. I'm fine with using a cooler my ice holds for 7 days in 90° heat. I just don't know if regearing will help or hurt my mpg's. :notsure:
I appreciate all of the ideas they are going down on my list and hopefully by the end of the month I will have made my decision.

I was quoted $2500 to regear f/r and install the arb compressor with the locker in rear. But to do a complete axle swap I was quoted $2000. What to do? :notsure:

Regear. It will make your truck more fun to drive. I got a quote 2 years ago from a shop for a regear and front ARB and it was about $2500.
