Monroe Shocks?

Thanks for the link. I'm considering the KYB GasAdjust models for the Scout when I see it's time to replace whatever is on there (I don't know what's on there now, as the Scout is currently under restoration). How are these monotube shocks? I was going to look at the Bilsteins, but they weren't listed for the Scout.

I cant stand monroe shocks! And rancho shocks are made by monroe so no need to say my opinion on that brand.

You can order 5125 bilstein shocks in different lengths and valving. They are not necessarly for a lifted vehicle. I have a 8.5 inch travel shock and a 12 on my 4x van. Im sure they would have a lenth you could use. You pretty much just need the extended and colapsed lenth. Also the 5125 only come with eyelets so you might need a stud conversion depending on your application.
Poly performance has the 5125 listed with lengths and valving so its easy to spot your needed shock

Ditto on the Bilstein HD's. I put a set on my F150 last summer, since the "lifetime" Rancho set were hammered.
They handle my truck and slide-in camper well, and it's always nearly overloaded (under the 8500 GVWR rating, though). I'm sure they'd work great on a 3/4 ton as well.
KYB's have been mentioned as well, and they're just fine for most everyone. I wouldn't be a bit leery to install either brand.
Before you buy a set online, stroll down to your local AutoZone or other Evil Mega Mart parts store and take your price with you. my local AZ beats the price, and there's no shipping.
Online, it's hard to beat partsgeek.com

I put them under a heavy Ford Econoline 150 conversion van and had no qualms with them. as a matter of fact, I loved them. It gave that big whale a sporty feeling. firmed up the suspension enough to make it stop swaying and felt go-kartish, yet compliant enough that it didn't feel like we were driving an old wooden cart.

From my understanding 5100's only work for lifted vehicles. I am not lifted (well 1") so I don't think these will work for me.

For my vehicle they listed fronts as 0" - 2" of lift, and variations above. Same for the rears. Might be worth a look on their website. :sombrero:
