For future readers of this post, on the off-chance you make it all the way to this comment, please note that there is another guide in the Mitsubishi Monteros USA / SoCal group that is a great cross reference for this guide. On US trucks, the original factory wiring harnesses should still be there and you shouldn't have to cut and reconnect any wires. Some cutting, but you can just reconnect the factory harnesses to each other after taking out the alarm bypass. I am also adding in that on my 97 Montero LS, I had an extra set of two wires running into the side covers near the wiring harnesses. On the legend which was printed on the alarm module box it said these were "courtesy light" & ground which the very good fellows at Ozzy's determined to most likely be the trigger for the alarm when the door was opened without disarming it. They were cut and everything worked fine afterwards. The keyless entry function no longer works on mine, however some other trucks may have a separate keyless entry module. Alternate aftermarket keyless entry systems are available. I also am having great results so far from removing the system, my starting issues went away and the locks no longer jump.
