I just picked up a very heavy box from Sierra Expeditions. And, I got all my stickers and Trasharoo! :victory:

Now, I need help with the install of the contents of the heavy box. Any one in Phoenix willing to help out this weekend?

Hoping to get it installed this weeken and take it on a shakedown on the weekend of the 9th.

Bjorn, I'm sorry buy I mis-read this post. No, the storage area is covered. I have plans for it, but that won't be for a while.

No worries... What spring rate and shock rate did you go with? I might be ordering mine soon. I haven't decided which ones I need yet.

Because of the weight I plan on carrying in and on the truck I went with the heavy set up. 915's up front and 918's in back. I have more stuff coming from the truck but it is currently on a container en-route to the U.S. Plus, I'm going to be putting an RTT up top so the stiffer the better for the weight and for sleeping. If you plan on ordering, call Wil and Wen at Sierra Expeditions.

Going to be uping the tire size? Sorry if I missed it. I've really never seen one of these guys lifted, looking forward to it!

I can come over after I visit Carrie on Saturday if you would like. I don't know how much help I'll be but I can work with you till about 5 or so.

The tires on it are new, but once it's time to replace I am thinking of going to a 33". Maybe a 255/85. Check out Tony's (tdesanto) build here. He's got a very nicely built 3rd Gen. Kinda my inspiration for this build.

Rex, just gave you a call. I'm doing some work today, but the suspension is going to be going in tomorrow. You are always welcome. If you want to swing by this afternoon please do. I might still need a little help. Or, if you want to come down tomorrow, extra hands are always good to have.

Ok, so on Sunday I did a little work:

Unfortunately it took me so long to figure out the left rear that I only got the right rear finished before I ran out of time and energy. The front still needs doing. Should have that taken care of this week.

Looks good...those are beefy springs arent they. I remember compressing them and going "Man I hope this compressor doesnt break". It will take a few miles to soften em up a bit but if I recall mine got softer after 3k or so. They will be stiff in the beginning.

I didn't use a spring compressor. I started too, but after cranking it all the way down the OEM springs still wouldn't come out. So I disconnected the lower control arm, pushed it down with my foot and the old spring came right out. I used a bottle jack and floor jack combo to get the new spring compressed and the control arm bolted back up. It was a challenge on the left side, but after I figured out the control arm secret the hardest part of the right side was breaking the bolts free. I took me almost 5 hours on the left and 45 minutes on the right. I am not looking forward to the front.
