Anyway, a huge load off my mind.

Glad it was just a relearning. I had heard they do this now although most of my mitsu experience has been w/ gen I's which have limited ECU sophistication.

I'll keep this in mind for when I have to disconnect my battery.

Tony, I went to the Pajero club of Victoria and also called the dealer. They both are saying the same thing. If the battery has been disconnected for more than a couple of minutes the ECU will "reset" and have to "re-learn" and get used to my driving style. I am guessing that since I am not hard on the gas very often it took it a bit of time to relearn the shifts for hard acceleration. Again, both yesterday and today it is shifting just fine with no issues, even when I am harder on the gas. I think that is what it is. Also, I have seen a great increase in fuel mileage since Sunday. As of last night I was getting almost 22mpg. I'm sure that wont last, but it is still cool. Gus from the Pajero club said that it will get better mileage after the ECU is reset. Anyway, a huge load off my mind.

That's excellent news. Even though I've never noticed this, I'm glad it has resolved itself for you...maybe I just wasn't paying close attention when I had the battery disconnected?

...and I don't have a FSM for this truck yet.

I'm sending you a PM about resolving this ASAP.

Thanks, Tony. I really appreciate all your input here, and for the FSM. Also off-roader, you have been a huge help too. I know alot abot the Trooper, but the Monty is very new to me.

No worries; that's one of the reasons we're all here, to help one another out.

We Mitsubishi owners have to stick together. :smiley_drive:

OK, some quick updates. Sierra Expeditions will be delivering some new kit I ordered either later tonight or early tomorrow morning. Now, don't get used to Wil or Wen doing free local delivery, Wil is going to be heading by my place on his way to Denver and he offered to bring it to me to save me the shipping cost. Gotta love the service from Sierra. Anyway, nothing big, but I got the QuickFists ordered to mount the MagLight and the fire extinguisher. I also ordered a set of 5 No Loss valve caps, and, since I lost the Stauns I got for fathers day pre-divorce several years ago, I got a new set. Also, my CB should be here tomorrow too and i'll get that installed. I'll post up pics when the kit goes in.

Also, Tony, did you extend your diff, transmission, and transfer case breathers? Also, would you be able to post up some pics of your sliders and how you mounted them? If ou could, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I'll see what I can do. It sucks that the photo storage problem hasn't been fixed yet. Practically all of my photos in my build thread, photos that would help you out here in this situation, will not display.

As for the breathers, there are several that run all the way into the engine bay. There are three metal tubes that run along the passenger side and terminate near the air intake. I think those are for the front diff, transfer case, and transmission, but I'll need to double check the manual to see if the diagrams will show this exactly. It's tough reading those tiny diagrams. The rear diff extends up somewhere into the body, I'm not sure how high.

So, in short, I haven't done any further extensions other than what Mitsubishi already did at the factory. The vehicle is rated to ford at least 2 feet, I believe. Need to confirm exactly how high.

Thanks, Tony. I haven't really gotten up under the truck to have a good look. That helps a lot. Wil told me you are flying up for the Expo, if this is the case I would love to pick your brain a bit. Maybe have Corbin join us for a looksie under the truck too as he gladly accepted the task of building a skid and sliders for my truck.

Well, I got a surprise at 3:30 this morning. Wil of Sierra Expeditions showed up at my door with the goodies I ordered from him yesterday. I got my Quick Fists, NoLoss, Stauns, and a couple cool Sierra Expeditions stickers. Thanks, Wil. Have a safe trip, and to everyone else, before you order anything, call Sierra Expeditions first. Wil and Wen are top notch and their service is the best you will find anywhere. Thanks again, Wil.

Absolutely. Come looke me up. I'll either be hanging out with Wil/Wen or over with Adventure Trailers and/or Equipt.

Here we go. I got my Quick Fist clamps in and now I can secure my fire extinguisher and MagLight in a more suitable location.

The light went in the same place as I had it in the Trooper:

The rear door cleaned up:

Fire extinguisher:

And the very handy NoLoss valve stem covers on all 5 tires:

There is one more external mod, but I try to stay away from driveway pics so I need to run out into some dirt to get a photo taken. Stay tuned:box:

So, this didn't happen in the oreder I had it on in the first post, but I didn't feel comfortable going off pavement with P rated tires. So, I put these on, and the lift will be the next item on the list.

Pathfinder A/T 265/75/r16 Load range D:

These give me about an inch of additional clearance. And this size fits stock, and the change is small enough that it doesn't effect handling or performance, and the AT's are still pretty quiet on road.

Now I need to save up a bit and work on getting the OME suspension.
