Montero / Pajero III interior dimensions

Searching high and low for reliable interior dimensions for the Gen 3. We’re pre-planning a sleep/storage build for the cargo area while we wait to pick up our 2004 3.2 DiD next week. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey, I built a two piece sleeping platform unit that ended up being 69" x 44.5" x 15"h to the underside, to accommodate for cooler/water jugs, camping stuff bins. Gives you about 35" x 36" x 15" storage area underneath.

Important part is to ensure your frame doesn't block access to the third row storage, if that's important to you.

Ours is a Gen 4 so I don't have useful dimensions for you. However we built a bed frame which works well and so have the following thoughts:

- we stripped out the third row seats and used the space for kit, the access was below the fridge slide - most stuff accessible by pulling out the fridge - some less frequently needed stuff required lifting out the fridge.
- We designed the bed frame to fold so that we had better access to the middle area (we could get lateral access most of the time, however if we wanted more access we could lift the front half of the bed frame completely. We are also able to lock the folded frame to provide a "backrest".
- make sure the sides of the frame have openings to allow easy access to the interior door locks from inside.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. @alanymarce - i checked out the photos of your Gen4 in my other thread, and it's an impressive setup. There are so many ways to build a bed, and I'm curious how you did yours. Went digging through your posts, but couldn't find anything further.
