Moog CC880S coils

Yeah, speed humps and potholes aren't so bad anymore.
Have you gotten a steering stabilizer? I added one from Monroe and it too was a big piece of the puzzle.

Steering stabilizer came stock on mine... standard on ambulance package. I need to have ball joints done. After I'll see if it still needs an alignment. It drifts a bit to the driver's side.

I ran over the scales today... these numbers seem a lot higher. I'll have to check on the other school again.

Front: 3630 lbs
Rear : 6468 lbs

Total : 10098 lbs

Accounting for 1 adult, 2 kids, 3 bikes, and a bunch of random tools & stuff... still about 9400 lbs with 35 gal of diesel fuel & a spare underneath (not that I use it).

The first time I weighed it it was under 9k... 900 of it appeared on the front axle.

I needed to take some garbage to the dumps today, great time to weigh the van. 1998 e350 v10 2wd with one rear seat. I had my self, my wife and little dog in the front, and 4 garbage cans in the very back. I pulled on the scale with just the front, about 3,300. Total was 7,020. So if I subtract about 350# off the front for the passengers and dog and about 300# off the the back for the garbage cans, it comes in at about 6,400#

I just installed these on my 7.3 Quigley. raised it about an inch. sofened the bumps a good bit. my tire no longer rubs on tight turns. well worth the money.

Make sure it is really softer . . .

I've tried that set of coils on my 9000# E250 RV. While it raises the front a bit, it's too stiff. The (single) coil load capacity is > 3000#, and for a front end's 1800# per side weight minus half the weight of the axle - it's not the right spring, regardless what the mfg says. Further the spring rate is way too high. However, if it floats your boat . . .

Set of cc880s in. 13.5" with a 2700 lb front end. They'll likely settle a tad, but should remain higher than the ones they replaced.

Haven't driven far, but initial impression is at they're better. Maybe my bumpstops won't remain polished... Time will tell.

Yeah, I agree, if you'd be carrying 1500# extra load over the front axle.

And by the way, it's not just the coils that allow the bumpstops to hit the axle, it's also the shocks being too "soft". The solution is to get shocks that are custom-valved for the actual coils. Matched coils and shocks for the actual weight and spring rate.

Monroe makes one in a kit. It's around $50. Easy install.

Lol, SC2955 is the same number Monroe uses on their damper, Napa probably has Monroe supply it.

Cc880S without a doubt with good shocks (Holstein, Fox...). I have an E150 5.4 and will not go any softer.

Edit: Sorry I had the CC880 on my 2000 E150. I put the cc880s on my 2010 E350 extended 5.4 and I am debating replacing them with the cc880.

I'd find a scale to drive over.

Do you want to lift the front end?
How do you plan to use it?
Do you plan to lift the rear?

How tall are your front springs when sitting on level ground?

cc880s would likely sit at 13.5-14" high.

I'd guess you'd gain 2-3".

What's the 876 weight rating?
880 are 1845 lbs x2
880s are 3005 lbs x2
