Sounds like things are coming together , you are going to love the new T bars. Your truck is going to feel brand new with some fresh springs under it. I personally think it will look killer with the tires you have and a lift. Roninjiro ran the same size tires on his Xterra , there are some great pictures of it on his build thread a few pages back in this forum. You will have to post up some pics once it s done.

It does look nice with 3" and 235 85s. Definitely not too small and should look great with the 2" I want as well

Suspension install done!!

... On my mountain bike that is. I do quite a bite of XC trail riding during the spring summer months. Just upgraded the fork on my hardtail kona. Went from the stock spring Rockshox tora to a dual air setup rockshox sid. The front end feels much lighter, lost over a pound. Changed out the cranks earlier this spri some shimano SLX, lost a pound there too.

As for the nissan I haven't called to order the leaf pack but it will be on the truck within the next month or so

You know it is as easy to get carried away on the bikes as our trucks. How do you like the ride of the new forks ? Did you buy them used? I have the spring Rockshox on my Specialized hardtail and after swapping the spring out for a lighter rate I don't mind them but if there was a huge difference in ride quality it would be worth consideration changing the forks out.

Its very easy to get caught modifying bikes as well, its cheaper and easier too!

Which spring fork do you have? My old one was the tora sl, which is just below the recon. It was pretty good but heavy.

I have yet to have it set up just right but its easily as plush for my riding style which is cross country/ trail. The fork I have is a rockshox SID race. It was used, probably for a season. Great shape just a view scratches, way cheaper than buying new though!

The biggest difference is the weight. I lost over a pound easily and it feels much more nimble at the front end and more stable at high speeds.

I have the Dart3 sl on my bike. The bike overall is quite light 28.35 lbs so I am not looking to shave a bunch of weight off but like I said a more plush ride would be worth it.

Now when are you getting going on your truck suspension?

That is pretty light to start with. What model specialized is it? Mine was right around 31 lbs stock

The tbars are ordered and probably in a week or two I will order the leafs and then find a weekend to install.

It is an 09 Rockhopper comp , Specialized really likes to shed weight. Glad your truck parts are coming in , the weather is warming up so it isn't so bad for wrenching on your truck.

Your probably going to hate me but my father in law has a heated garage at his house. About an hour away. 2 post lift, air tools, radio, beer fridge and any tools you could possibly need. Usually do all the work there, its nice to have someone to help when something doesn't go as planned.

Very nice bike, my brother just got an all custom one, still hasn't given me the details yet....

Good to see someone who uses the Xterra like the commercials back in the day :)

Good news, bad news, good news

Good news my torsion bars are in, will be picking them up later this week

Bad news I just realized that my passenger side leaf pack has one leaf that is broken completely in half (second from the bottom)

Good news this means that I have to act, will be calling and ordering some new ones tomorrow, 2" lift 500lbs extra load capacity

I think I broke the pass side leaf on my frontier and driver side rear shock one trip back home from the lower 48. That is when I went with OME leafs and Rancho shocks, 100k miles later and now I'm putting Bilsteins on.
Must have been the Canadian potholes sure was not my driving. :26_7_2:
