I am working on a decision lol, Might be going with a different truck then what I was thinking, A fairly basic Chevy Colorado, starting to talk to a dealer to see what kind of deal could be worked out. In the end the Chevy Colorado is just what I like, and I have some ideas for sleeping.
Good luck. The Colorado is a nice truck. GM does have a longer power train warranty that comes with road side assistance which is nice. If you don't mind my asking, which dealership are you talking to? (I see we're in the same city)

Uhhh... Nope. You can get the 2.7 in an XLT as well as an XL.

Also, the N/A V6 is a dog.... a dog with limited resale value.

Resale value is lower, yeah, but 6/10 people driving a half ton don't tow or haul ********, and have just bought into the hype. I have an NA V6 truck, and its not even the light aluminium body. Its basically a full size mid size, it just cost 10+ thousand dollars less than any midsize equivalently equipped.
Guys rolling around in Tacos/Colorados with 33s, stock gears, weighing in at 5000 lbs stock, never mind mods. They make due with 280-300 HP. Aluminium F150 SCAB is same weight.

I'd suggest a volume trim (XLT Ford, or SXT or SLT Ram) F150 SCAB or Ram quad cab. Either with the V6. Especially a year old with low KMs. Still have factory warranty for a while, and usually a good price point.
But even if buying new, wait for the right time of year for incentives, and remember how everyone gravitates towards the high HP engines and high bling trims. This leaves the vanilla trucks sitting around in abundance.

Go +1 in tire size. Heavier rear spring. Nicer shocks all around. Add skids if not factory supplied on the particular truck you find.

I haven't followed Ram lately, but you can get F150 XLT SCAB 4x4 3.3 with a couple options for 33-35k CAD here In Manitoba when the incentives are out. Ram used to have a loss leader like a Quad Cab SXT 4x4 for low 30s as well.

Well after all of that i decided to go a completely different direction lol, Chevy Colorado and will be getting a roof top tent, I really appreciate everyone's suggestions and comments but in the end I did what I felt was best for me and what I wanted.

Very cool. Nice to see results in what are often just endless threads. Edmonton was my hometown... in the 60s/70s.

Thats a huge step up from a CX5.
