This is my first post on this forum. I've been looking and gleaning info from this place for years and finally have time to participate. Here's my taco as she sits now.

2012 access cab 4x4 V6
Toytec 3" lift
B-quiet liner entire cab

FilpPac from AT
Bed rug
Fiamma F35 awning
DIY bench/lower bunk storage and table
Red/white LED dome lights, cheap AT alternative

Things I'd like to add:
Aux backup/ work light on the rear of the camper
Sliders
Front and rear plate bumpers can't make a choice on these, weight up front bugs me.

Any suggestions are appreciated! I'll get more pics up if this thread goes anywhere.

REAR LIGHT

I have a similar rig and mounted a Baja Designs marine series flood light on back with a dimmer. I used the marine version because it's offered in a white case. Also mounted a Shady Boy awning on back of Flip pac

You can go with aluminum front and rear bumper to save on weight.
There's a ton of aftermarket bumpers for the Tacomas. Demello Off-road, All-Pro all road, to name s few
You can also look on Tacomaworld.com with tons of info

PELFREY OFFROAD does a great front winch bumper in aluminum at only 55 lbs. exceptional customer service too.

Those lights look sweet, I like the white. Did you wire yours up to the back up lights? I want the option to turn on and off from a switch in the rear of the camper and for it to come on automatically when in reverse. I'd love to see pics of how you mounted yours also. Thanks for the info.

Aluminum bumpers are nice but a little too pricy for me. Anyone know of a lighter steel bumper, I'm not looking to run a winch all the time, I may do one in a front receiver or something. Not sure yet.

Nice!

There's all kinds of funky ways to wire up lights using relays.

I currently have my rear work lights wired to light up whenever my truck bed lights would have turned on. That means they turn on whenever I unlock with the remote, whenever I open a door, whenever I flip the bed light switch in the cab & indepently from inside the Flippac (trucks off no key in the ignition). I can also turn them completely off, but that's from inside my bed. I also have them wired through a combination flasher/dimmer switch.

I bought my flasher dimmer switch from "superbright LEDs", I think it cost around $10. I also bought the LED work lights (and a bunch of other stuff) from them.

Day to day the work lights are set to high brightness, annoying flash & turn on whenever I blip my truck, or open a door.

I have them powered solely from my "house" battery, which is currently completely isolated from my start battery.

...oh & a tip if your going to wire/tap your lights into your reverse circuit & aren't too sharp elictrically (I'm not!). Have spare fuses at the ready! If you end up popping a fuse (brake lights as an example), you can probably disable your truck/lock the shifter.

Nissans lock out the shifter once in park anyways when the brakes lights go out as a safety feature. I assume all new truck brands do that.

Hey there! Truck is looking good!

Do you have any more photos for the camper interior? Great idea with the table, I think i am going to do something similar with mine once I get a Flippac
