Moto camping - Nomad Tenere Tent

Neat. I'd like to see it before I drop $400 though... :drool:
This is a big tent, standing 6 feet tall in the vestibule, and weighing more than 13 lbs.
The tent is unusual in that you set up the rainfly/outer shell first, then suspend the inner tent from the outer. This gets you out of the weather a little faster. And in the morning the Tenere lets you pack up the bike in the shelter of the outer shell, out of the weather.
One flaw I see in the design is egress in the middle of the night when nature calls. You'd have to squeeze past your tent mate and the bike while half asleep. A second entrance at the other end of the tent would address this, but add to the weight and complexity of the design.

Man, this thing has been everywhere this week. Cool idea, but I think it's unnecessary.

Neat but I really don't want my dirty bike right next to my entrance and exit- especially if I have a beer or so before turning in for the night. It's not that I don't love my bike, but it does smell a bit and if there's any stray grease or oil on it the most expensive and most easily ruined piece of gear I happen to have with me will be sure to find it.

I had the KTM version, and I agree with a few post above, very cool, nicely done, but sort of over kill!
The only real thing that would completely hold me back, which was totally shocking, was regarding the packing weight, over 16 pounds :Wow1:. My bike tent is a MSR hubba hubba that only weights something like 2.8 lbs, so you must want to badly enclose/sleep with your bike to be willing dragging the extra 13-14 lbs around with ya on the trail. Thats a lot of weight, heck I'm spending hard earned money on trying to save a pound here and a pound there, but adding this to your rig would completely cancel all that out!!! Adding all that weight by just a tent, don't think so...
Great Idea, just needs to be rethought, made lighter, with better materials!!! But then of course the price will go way up, but maybe not, the MSR was only $200???

Awesome Tent
The wife got me one for my b-day, at first I was like "this is a huge f-ing tent" after using the tent all over the place last summer in the mountains and deasert, even made a trip on the harley to Strugis,I love this thing. Pull the bike out, and their is your sitting, cooking, changing/bathroom(for wife!!), and gear stash area. Sometimes I still use a small tarp for the bike, but in all this thing has tons of room and great for those not so nice days. :ylsmoke:
