Mounting RTT on teardrop/ squaredrop

Hi all.
Where is the best position to mount an RTT on an off-road squaredrop trailer? More towards front? Back? Or directly over the axle?

I just picked up my first squaredrop. I was hoping to throw my RTT on top of it so that we can camp with another couple of friends with just one vehicle.

I would guess that a lot of trailer stability and tongue weight questions come into play here.

Do you intend to use the RTT with the trailer unhooked?
Does the trailer have stabilizers?
What style of tent? I.E. soft folder or hard pop up?
How much does it weigh?
Where is your axle and what is your current tongue weight?
Do you have a photo of trailer?

For the scenario I’m imagining, I would try to go centered over the axle or slightly forward depending on tongue weight. But that is my imagination of common answers to the questions above.

The hardsided clam shells rtt I am considering for my squre top are 90-95 " long so they cover most of the roof on my trailer. If your looking at a similar rtt and your trailer is under 20 feet long and it is a light model I would mount it far enough back so you can crawl in the rear opening.
