BF Goodrich KO/TA - 285/75 R16.

Well, so after a few months of back and fourth with BFG they finally gave in and swapped all 4 of my KM2's. Mixed feelings here..!!!
I'm a picky driver and like to make sure my cars/trucks drive perfect. The KM2's just wouldn't balance I tried everything you can think of still had strong vibrations/shaking HORIBLE...!!

The BFG Rep and my buddy Petros (Tire Kingdom Manager) both insisted I try the BFG KO/TA in size 285/75 R16.
So I took their advise, its an amazing tire on the road super smooth very little road noise, its wider so a bit more contact patch. I haven't hit the trials with them so not 100% Sure how they'll do, but I've seen some guys kill it on these tries so maybe just driver and a good line..? Here are a few pictures I took the day of the swap.

You've improved that Taco a bunch! Looks great Mauricio. Never been to Lazy Springs. I used to live in WPB.

Thank you...!!! Nice love WPB I always tell my wife if win the lottery I would buy a home near The Breakers LOL...!! Do you still live in FL...? I think a few of the Tacoma guys are going on the 22nd. I have a business trip that week, crossing my fingers it gets canceled so I can go.

I've always had great luck with BFG KO/TAs. If they still made them in load range D, i'd run them forever and not look back.

Very cool truck, you got a killer set up there!

Thanks, yes so far am loving them. Question, have you ran the "E" rated KO/TA's..? BFG Rep told me the range difference in "D" & "E" is very unnoticeable, that only going form a "C" to an "E" would you notice the stiffness of the Ply's. I deal in heavy machinery tires and I know that Ply rating & Star rating makes a huge difference in load capacity but not in ride quality. How do you like the Dura Tracks...?

Did you hit any thick mud out there and if so, did you miss the KM2s?

mike2100 Ocala is very sandy and muddy in some sections most of the year.
It was very WET as summer time in Florida is none stop rain all the time...!!!

With that said, I missed having an M/T in a few technical muddy hills/climbs.
Other than that, the A/T KO's preformed AMAZING...!!!

One of the rigs that was with us (200 Series Land Cruiser) had Cooper M/T's and had ran the BFG A/T's in the past on most of the trails, he was surprised at how well the Tacoma did on the A/T's. He was telling me that he would slip & slid all over on A/T's.

the BFG KO A/T is an excellent tire, personally I HATE THE SIZE...!!! Really wish it was offered in a 255/85 R16" I'm contemplating buying a set of wheeling wheels & tires down the road. Will see...!!!

What did you hit? Or what hit you to dent the bed?

Truth is, I'm not sure...? :( The trails are very tight in Hard Rock so not favorable for LWB rigs like a Taco.
Talking with a few of the guys we think I hit the bed on one of the switch backs but not sure.
I didn't feel it, and had a spotter in most of the difficult sections so had to be a small obstacle that I underestimated.
Really it looks bad but I think a good dent guy can pull it out and should look perfect.

That's what I'm doing now. I was running KM2s in the 255 size on stock 16x7 TRD wheels. I didn't want to wear them out just driving to work so I put some 285 Nitto Terra Grapplers on FJ trail teams wheels and keep the KM2s in the garage. I'm definitely going to try the Nittos in the mud though. If they work well enough I may just sell the KM2s. I've heard good things about the Trail Grappler and its sister tire the Toyo A/T so here's hoping.
