With our 2009 on 37" tires and 5:13 gears we average 9mpg. Granted we do drive this thing kind of hard. I have heard the 2012+ are a lot better.

Holy crapola man, I average 11-12mpg with 4.56's, 35's, and a very thirsty v8. But thankfully it only gets driven a few times a month.

About 16 hwy on 35's with 3:73 gears and the new motor. Avg speed of 70-75mph. If I drop down to 60mph I could probably get 18, but I hate going slow.

As I said it could have something to do with the way it gets driven. :rally_guys:

If I cruse down the freeway at 65 mph I can pull 13mpg out of it.

Jimbo - What size tire?

I average 16-17mpg with 285-75-r17s toyo M/T's and the stock 4:10's. I try to keep the RPM's around 2200 when crusing. I also have a roof rack that drags me down about 1 mpg. I took it off and was seening 18mpg regularly.

Stock 2012 JKU Rubi, auto, 4.10s. 19-20MPG on the highway (if I drive nice and it's not too windy). My commute in town isn't condusive to good gas mileage (and I drive it pretty hard). But I get 13-15 MPG depending on how I drove it.

Average mileage over the life of my JK is 15.2 MPG. ~17500 km since Feb 14th 2012.

2012 JKUR, 4.10s, stock 32s, auto, with about 4300mi on it, I haven't logged the last two tanks yet, but this is what I am getting so far. I have added some weight, AEV Front bumper, JM Rear bumper and swing out, 12K winch, maybe 25lbs in tools, a 2L Fire Extinguishers, 10lb CO2 tank, some straps and shackles.

Alot of it is burnt up by the wife in the pick-up line at school for the kiddo. All of it is around town driving, sans a trip here or there.

Some sort of lost...
2012 six speed, 4.10's, 35" km2s, stock bumpers, 15-16 city / 17-18 highway, driven hard.
With all the disappointments of a poorly built product I am actually pleased with mileage. Lol

Stock, I was getting 19mpg highway. Didn't drive it in the city at all before installing lift/tires.

2012 JKU 6 spd base model. I mean base, it is a postal jeep with the steering wheel on the wrong side. People sometimes don't believe me but I usually get 24 mpg in high way driving. And yes, the mpg gauge is accurate as tested with math at fill up. This is with wife, kid, dog and camping gear. The key is to keep it at 65 but don't be afraid to give it the beans before you start climbing, you make it back on the down hill. I don't use my Jeep for commuting it is all for exploring and I am rarely in a hurry.

What I really like is the mileage at low trail speeds. You can putt around on light trails for days without having to go back for fuel, love the 22 gal tank. I have been pleasantly surprised with the thrift, comfort and capability of my Jeep. My first and maybe not my last American car.

By chance have you weighted your Jeep at a truck scale. I would be very interested in this information.

Thanks
