Tons of detail and pics for the whole build.
It's an awesome truck that will go anywhere that you want to take it, and unlike a jeep, has good payload capacity and power. Drives and rides better than a stock truck (no joke).
Few questions that I'm often asked:
Gearing:
This truck does have 4.88 gears. With 40" tires, 4.88 gears are within 1mph of the factory 3.73 gears and stock tires. On the highway, you're cruising at the same RPM as a stock truck. This truck also has the 6spd Allison trans, which is double overdrive. Cruise all day at 75-80mph.
Driving/Ride Quality:
This truck does not have any bump steer, and does not wander the road. I took a lot of time in making sure that my suspension design kept the drag link and track bar angles the same. When traveling, most of the time is spent cruising down highways, so I did NOT want to compromise that ability in any way.
The steering assist cylinder is located directly in line with the tie rod, and is perfectly flat/level. This truck steers easier than any vehicle that I have driven. No weird kicks/jerks from the steering due to the ram being mounted at an angle. Everything travels together, smoothly.
Truck height:
Yes it's on 40" tires, but it sits a touch lower than a 4" lifted truck on 35s. From ground to the top of my roof rack is 73". I go thru drive-thrus all the time with lots of clearance to spare. And yes, the engine is quiet enough at idle that you don't have to turn it off in a drive-thru. :sombrero:
Fly in to Northwest Arkansas (XNA) and drive it back home.
Price: $50k
