Awesome job man looks great! I have a couple questions for you. I just picked up the same stile camper in about the same shape but a better price.

1. Before you turned it on its side did you remove all the tin siding? If so do you have any more pictures with the siding off.
2. Where did you get your lights and fan from?

how much do you have into it if you don't mind me asking?

Im not exactly sure honestly, not sure if I really want to know haha, but prob close to what one would cost on craigslist in similar condition, maybe about 1k or so? I had zero materials at my house for this, so everything had to be bought, but I tried to keep the cost down as much as I could

Thanks man, I did not remove all the aluminum siding, but I did remove the front pieces, and most of the drivers side, they come off in sheets no larger then 2-3 feet screwed and stapled into the wood. Sadly I only have shots of the front off, and the front top corner and back rear corner where I addressed some rot, but it should give you some idea. If you have any questions about the construction of it Id be glad to help, its more or less just "grid" for lack of a better word of 1x2s with insulation sandwiched between an interior wood panel and the aluminum siding held together with big staples. The only solid wood pieces in it are the bottom of the sleeping platform, and the 3 floors (bottom and two sides), the rest is somewhat flimsy, these things were pretty simple and kind of wimpy to keep the weight down, once you start taking things apart you'll see its pretty straight forward.

Nice work you really brought that back from the dead! I'm an avid rider as well and that was the main motivation for setting up my rig. Nothing like a comfy place to camp and stage after a good ride!

Thanks man, yea I was OK with the truck tent for the time being, but then my buddy brought his uncles RV with us to Glamis one time, I had a shower after riding all day in that thing, and I knew I was hooked lol, nothing beats that, feel reborn!!

Thanks man, it was def on its way if things had not gone the way they did

Got the first coat on tonight, not perfect by any means but it already looks so much better, gonna get one more coat on it tomorrow and that will be it, as much as I love the transformation I despise painting/bodywork, I'm just too impatient of a person to let paint dry without messing with it or something

Paint turned out really well- do you travel with the cooler and stove where they are? I'd think about putting a lip on those counters to keep them from falling in transit

That is a really great build or rebuild! Thanks for sharing all of the pictures and your progress of the transformation. As someone else said, you truly brought that back from the dead. The end product not only looks great but is totally functional and all yours. I bought a cheap BMW HP2 last year and although it took a while to take it apart and work out all of the kinks, it came out nice and I know every inch of the bike.

As you continue to use it and upgrade it to fit your personal needs, I hope you continue to include pics in this thread.

Time to go camping!!

The cooler hangs out there when traveling, I put a small lip at the edge of its spot and then run a thick adjustable bungee cord from a mount to both corners of the wall, shes nice and solid. The stove goes up under the bed, and I have to get some pics of it but I used those old trunk nets I found in some used cars at my shop in front of the "cabinets" to hold everything in there, no problems yet!

Thanks man! Getting more or less a "blank canvas" was the whole MO of picking this thing up and building it, I could build it how I wanted for my needs, and I would know it in and out.

And kudos to building that BMW, Ive built several old bikes, and my favorite was an old R75/6, something about those old boxers makes them feel like a WW2 fighter, they are so much fun! I had a close call on my Repsol and decided to stick to dirt riding, but I think If I ever get back into street bikes that will be one of the first ones I get, followed by an RD400 and then another RR to take on the track with, or all of them will be track bikes, we will see!

As for the camper, got the final coat on this morning, letting her dry now, and I feel it came out great! Def works for me, feels good to get this done early and over with, as its supposedly hitting around 110-112 today, so its time to hide out in my house until nightfall!
