If you have read this far, I am open to comments/criticism. I am use to running though the whoops as 80 plus, not doing a trip where I never go more than 30... I understand that the YJ is the red headed step child of Jeeps but if you read in the first post, it was my dads. BTW, my mom still rocks this when she comes out to Cali every now and then.

You could always do the ole CJ-grill swap. Looks great, and gets rid of that "step child" stigma!

Sure man, I won't fault anyone's taste and it certainly looks like you know what you're doing. I just personally like the round lights on Jeeps, but that's just me. Rock on!

Thanks, Claw! Out of all the years I have been doing metal fabrication I have learned there are 10 right ways and 10 wrong ways to do things... I am just trying to get 1 of the 10 right ways. I strive for 95% over built but 100% bad @ss!

Drinking beer & removing your hardtop is never a good idea... Apparently I strategically placed all of my "topless" hardware so I would not be able to find them! Hardtop is going back on...

After looking at the first picture to the last, you might have noticed that the old girls paint job was getting a little faded. So yesterday I got a little motivated and started to polish her up. Then after a few beers, the spray paint came out. I did the hinges on the doors and windows the same hammered paint that I used on the fenders and it seems to hold up pretty well.

Thanks, Mike.

I hope to have some more pics up in the next day or 2 of it all polished up ready to get dirty.

Its been a rough week in San Diego (north inland)... temperatures in the high 90s and reaching triples a couple of days. Good thing my Dometic DZ65 doubles as a beer fridge when not on the trail. Yep that was my product placement... So the jeep was a little pink... that would be fine since she is a girl, but the old girl likes to get cleaned up every now and then. I gave her more love then i ever have...
