I'm very new to this forum, and haven't made many posts yet, but wanted to say I like the work you're doing on the trailer. The tires truly did make a huge difference in the appearance. I'm looking forward to following the rest of your build.

love this!

Way to recycle and like the design! Looks like that tent cot is a 1 person rig no?

Thanks! The Tent-Cot is a 2 person, and the top is domed. It's a little tight but not bad.

The tires on the trailer are 35x12.50x15 MTR's.

The fenders I plan on getting are 36"L x 10"W x 19"H. I will be cutting them down so they are not so tall, that will also change the length of them.

Thanks! It has been a fun project, alot less stressfull than working on the 4Runner. :)

The trailer was put on the back burner so I could focus my time on the new 4Runner. I was getting burnt out working on the 4Runner, and I need to make up my mind about a couple things. So it seemed like a good time to get back to work on the trailer.

I left off with these lame pictures ...

I started working on the firewood / trash container a few weeks ago but I never posted any pictures. Keeping with the cheap or free theme I used some old square tube we had laying around, it had a little surface rust but was in good shape.

Then i got to work installing the expanded steel

That's how it sat for a few weeks, but it was time to get back to work making the one million spot welds that hold the storage box together.

I installed the front section

Then I worked on the side

Dirtco:

The trailer is coming along great!
I like the rear bumper and how you contoured the tubes around the body molds.
The wheels and tires you chose make the rig pop!
Keep the build pictures posted.

My wife would KILL me if I cut up her 4 Runner like that!!:coffeedrink:
But, since I've already done it to my Rodeo I'm good!:)

The trailer is coming along really well. I stalled on my trailer too!
Was pullling it around the other day in the yard so I could mow the grass under all my trailers and thought about finishing it.

Thanks!

Now I've got ANOTHER unfinished project I feel compelled to get back on.

Dirtco, you are doing great work there. Re-using a car/truck chassis makes for a pretty challenging build but your box matches it perfectly. :wings: Looks like you know your way 'round a welder too!

Just a thought, the space between the tent and the box roof looks like a perfect storage place for a fold up table or something similar.
