Alright, its about time to get serious on my Truck.
Base
2006 Ford 6.0L 4x4 200" Quad Cab XL trim
Automatic w/manual transfer case
4.88 OX locker in front
4.88 LS in rear
Completely stock engine transmission with exception of complete EGR and affiliated replacement per warranty(truck has less than 60k on it) i follow the KISS principle. Once i get a few more miles i will address the rest of the engine issues w/o getting stupid
Dual tanks19g fore 40g aft
Already done
OX Locker out front
Fiberglass front fenders to allow for tires
4" lift up front and heavy springs out back( was a line truck with a full steel body on the back, removed and added the front lift to level it out until i get the back finished, then will decide on the rear suspension)
12.5 x 20 Michelen XLs
Stazworks 20x10 split rim w/o double bead lock( had rims machined to accept internal beadlock if i deem necessary in future)
Intended Use
Extended single person camping with multiple dogs and still usable as a pick up when needed, but primarily a trip truck not a DD
Necessities will be typical
Heat
sleeping quarters
shower(likely under the RTT)
shore power with battery bank and solar back up( i am going to try as much as possible to use electrical to supply needs, heat, hot water etc. fully realizing battery bank will need to be able to accommodate usage. I want to stay away from propane or diesel accessories. Since i will not train dogs or bird hunt below10F heating will not be a huge factor. if it dictates, i have a wall tent for more permanent excursions with the necessary equipment).
So tell me what you think, an no need to be gentle.
