This is my first attempt to get a vid from from camera up on Youtube in 1080 HD. The camera is a Sony HDR-XR500V. It is shooting 1080 60i. The videos look great played straight up through my PS3 to my 1080i TV. When I watch them on my computer, the interlacing is horrible.
I'm using Xilisoft Video Converter to deinterlace and recode them to WMV which plays better on my machine. On this clip, The scene looks great, but the rider appears blurred. I'm not sure if it's because of shutter speed (need to see if there's a sport's setting), or if it's because of the deinterlacing process.
Any other ideas?
Otherwise, the camera is amazing. The low-light performance is stunning. I can get useful video of my sons face in pitch black, lit only by the glow of fireworks.
The sound is also pretty awesome just using the built in microphone.
