when using the Nikwax, does it have to be wet like is says? If so, did you put it in the washing machine or get it wet with a hose?

Mine was dry, I sprayed it directly on the fabric (liberal amounts) and then vigorously rubbed it in with a wet cotton towel/rag paying extra attention to any seams/stitching. Let it dry thoroughly before you stow it.
