Great thread. Dig the silver.

Thanks Scott, been following your thread. Very very cool stuff. You actually inspired me to get a W463 from your Entdecker video.

I've been following your social media for years and all your creations (I promise I don't have a lot of man crush on you, just a little lol)

Thanks for your comment, means a lot.

I swear, I'm just the weekend warrior! Thanks for your support!

Update for today! Took all the intercooler out and decided to clean up the cuts to prepare for plumbing.

Nothing feels better to refreshing some parts.

Ouh! Look what Santa Clause AKA Canada Post dropped off, so many boxes of bits and bobs.

We have cooling fans, oil feed lines, elbows, angles, tubing, oil coolers and etc...

First order of business, testing fitting the slim SPAL fan.

Fits, just need to mount it properly now.

Update!

I find refreshing parts with a spray can quite therapeutical.

Before:

After:

Painted my intake as well:

Started laying down all the lines for the coolers.

Some might disagree how the coolers are mounted. I'm running out of space, so I have drill holes for the fitting. It's not noticeable however it's only a temporary solution. My brush guard bumper is in the powder coating shop.

Honestly, being able to reuse OEM parts makes me smile the most.

That's it for today, I did install a Front Runner Slimline II roof rack. Didn't get a picture though, will get one next visit to the garage.

Not much of an update today, tomorrow should be a good day. I figure I'd share my vacation pictures where I was in Germany in the summer, had the chance to visit the Mercedes Museum and ORC.

They said this was a project for a Russian customer used for hunting. Everything here had Portals!

Moroccan customer that gave guided tours in the desert. Came in for a full restore.

Had double shock mounts a bunch of ORC parts.

Cool open chassis G wagons.

Shop area was awesome!

Dumpster at ORC is a giant treasure chest!

Saw this parked outside, had battle scars. Ouch!

What is managing the transmission? Ole's controller?
Where the AC compressor brackets came from? Any interference with the steering box? On all my 606 conversation so far I had to ditch the AC. Working on putting together a conversion for a customer and if I can keep the AC it will be a nice bonus.

Yes it's the Arduino from Ole. Haven't powered up the car yet so cannot comment on how the setup is. Ole said he programmed it for me as per his brothers W463 parameters. It's nice has it has a cluster output and the cluster can grab it's data from there. Has paddle shifter compatibility and a boost reader.

The AC bracket is very hard to find. It's from the 350GD or 300GD . The compressor is from a OM603. I'll try to grab the part numbers.

So been busy working on the car and didn't update.

Started assembling the car back. Hooked up hoses and fixed stripped nuts and securred everything.

Changed my brittle vacuum line.

Used some old parts for the radiator.

Transmission oil pan bolted up.

Listened to the suggestion to put idler pulley between crank and ac for extra belt traction.

All routed up!

Got some wires!

Hooked up my glow plug relay. Located it in the electrical box.

Wiring is never fun... So messy...

Tidying up!

Turns out my cluster already has the glow plug light, all it need was a wired light bulb. It knew it wanted to be a diesel since birth. Done!

Finally hooked up the Arduino TCU or TCM from Ole.

Mounted the TPS on DPUK bracket.

Setup my TCM with the TPS.

Decide which crank (RPM) sensor would suit best and fetched it for a RPM reading.

If anyone is wondering, its this:

Clean up and mount everything.

Not sure where I should mount the display and joystick, I want to embedded it in my custom trim.

Now, all I am waiting is the welder to pass by tomorrow and weld my oil line fittings, intercooler piping and full downpipe/exhaust.

Played around with the controller today.

My Spal racing fans are pretty strong, shouldn't have an issue sitting in summer traffic.

Tried starting the car today, the neutral switch was acting up, sometimes would crank, sometimes wouldn't budge. Any ideas?

So the welder was here over the weekend. Measured, cut and tacked parts. All the cooling is done and fixed into place.

Steering cooler!

Intake all welded and fitted.

And the moment I've been waiting for!

Thanks guys, kinda neglected this thread as it isn't very active. However here comes the latest updates to completion of phase 1 of the car.

So let's catch up on welding pictures!

Getting my turbo all welded up!

That allowed me to finalize the the intake side of the engine. Had to measure and fit everything as the space was limited.
