Little info.
Year: 2001
Make: Toyota
Model: Tacoma Dbl Cab 4x4 w/SR5 & TRD package
Engine: 2002 4.7 V8 (79k Miles)
Trans: from 2004 Tundra (2000-2002's tundras had trans issues so I went with a newer year to avoid the problem)
T-Case: from 2003 Sequoia ( Because I wanted the AWD feature)

Everything works and drives great except for finishing AC lines and wiring up cruise control.

Lift: Front: OME 882 ( Currently getting only about 1-1.5 inches of lift )
Rear: Homemade leaf pack with 2 additional leaves per side- 3-3.5
inch lift.

Tires/Rims: BFG KM2 on 4Runner rims, Tundra brake upgrade.
Armor: Tjm bumper with winch, homemade bellypan.
Various other little mods...

Wow, that's quite a project. So you swapped out the front clip with a 3rd gen 4runner? Interesting - I've seen the opposite of that (01-04 Taco front clip on a 3rd gen 4runner) over on t4r.org but I've never seen it done this way.

How does your T-case shift? The Taco would have had a floor shifter but the Sequioa had a pushbutton (actually a dial) if I recall.

I'm curious if that is a 3rd gen 4runner front clip where did you get the HID housings? I have been trying to find some for my HID swap next headlight go-around.

My guess is they're G1's. Fingers crossed for the V8 swap write up:cool:.

Yes I swapped out for a 4Runner front because I have always liked the looks over a Tacoma front. As for the T-case the Sequoias came with a floor shifter for Lo/Hi and two buttons for AWD and 4x4 lock. I used the stock Tacoma 4x4 button for AWD and a generic Toyota button for the 4x4 lock. AWD works great in the snow, no more shifting in and out of 4x4 all the time.

Your license plate is crooked. :ylsmoke:
It's crooked because my winch cable is behind it, doesn't bother me I can't see it when I'm driving anyway.

where did you get the japanese side mirrors that mounts on the hood?

I actually got the fenders from Japan a while ago, all cars there have that mirror to see the curb when they are parking.

Yes that is a 3rd gen front, the head lights are from Ebay and the projectors are G3 similar to the G1's but larger for better light output. Currently I am running them with 55watt ballasts and they are supper bright with a nice cutoff line.

My guess is they're G1's. Fingers crossed for the V8 swap write up:cool:.

I didn't have time to take many pics because I was in a rush to get the conversion done before winter, the few that I did take were lost when my computer crashed. I would be happy to take any pics or answer questions anyone has though.

Is that the Tundra gauge cluster in your dash? Does it bolt right in place? Did you utilize the entire Tundra wiring harness? So your still sitting on your IFS front suspension with the OME coils? Very cool project...

Yep that is a Tundra cluster, I wanted a working tach and to have it look stock so swapping out the cluster was my only option. The Tundra cluster had different mounts but a similar shape and size, I just broke off the mounts and epoxied them in the correct places. As for the wiring I just spliced in compatible wires and wired in the ones that were Tundra specific. As for suspension it's stock with OME springs but I am looking for more lift in the front if anyone can suggest anything for the added weight.

I was just thinking about your truck the other day, but forgot your username. What's the goal of selling your old V8 swap and putting in the new 4.7? Lower mileage engine?
