My Jeep Warranty Nightmare

update

Not that anyone is very interested, but I have an update today!

Today was day 34, and I actually saw and drove the jeep. They have now changed 2 master cylinders, an ABS controller, and the left front caliper. the brakes still feel very soft to me, but they are consistent, and I have been driving my F250 for so long now that I have no relevant muscle memory comparison.

the service writer told me that the "STAR" team has not signed off on releasing the vehicle to the customer yet, but that they have several new Jeeps on the lot and they have driven them all and they all have comparable pedal feel to mine now. I asked a bunch of technical questions and he said "I'm really not a technical guy, I just write service orders...". That might not be a direct quote but it was within a word or two. I assured him that he could release the vehicle and not worry about it coming back, because my frustration level had reached the point where he wasn't going to ever see me as a customer again. He said that they hoped it was truly fixed because it had taken too long to sort it out. He actually told me that it was their longest open ticket right now. I told him I truly hope it is the longest ticket, because no repair should be out at 34 days. I'm not sure he understood my point, although I can't believe he would have missed that.

Anyway, I hope to see the rig in my driveway again soon, I've been coerced into getting far too many weekend home projects done since I was trapped in town!

yeah it is a PITA

My dealership here used to be pretty good I got to know one of the service managers cause off roads a lot too. I had a bushing fail on the transmission shifter and couldn't get it into gear I managed to hold it together with a zip tie and drive down there to order a new one, and have them install it. They told me they were not taking walking ins. You had to get an appointment the nearest one was a week away . I said for a 99 cent part and five minutes of work. I went in to the parts department and asked them to look up the part .They couldn't find it> said my 08 was too old.

I could order a whole new shift assembly. 200 bucks and come back in a week. Well I figured out that they don't sell the 99 cent bushing by it self.. so i went on line found a place that sells the 99 cent bushing for 25 bucks and ordered it. It went on and I kid you not in less than 10 seconds. It took me longer to crawl under the jeep than to put it on.

But then again my tacoma had some issues also.
