Nice job!
How do you feel with the gas springs you purchased? I have the same tent and almost the same lid as you and I just ordered a 150lb spring. You think that would be too light?
Thanks
I sometimes wonder if the 250# springs are enough. A few times I have the tent closed, and the deck loaded with firewood, lawn chairs, dog kennels, it can still be heavy. But again when the tent is open, and nothing is on the lid, you can almost give it all your weight to close it. Martyn is right - if you read back in some of his posts its really about were you mount the strut in relation to the movement. So your 150# may work. I believe when I ordered they were only $12 or so and the 150# were $10.. So I figured why not.
EDIT: My lid is extremely heavy. When I built this I used all free stuff I had laying around, and in hindsight it might have worked in my favor to purchase lighter materials..
Thank you for the comments. The trailer has been good to us. (Also one of my few projects I have kept on budget)
