My M416 Build Thread

Until just recently, I lived ina state that didn't require a trailer of this type to be registered (Oklahoma), so don't have a plate on it. But now I'm back in Seattle, and I'll have to figure out where to put a plate, once the troopers see me driving around once too many times to be "just passing through"...

New Leaf Springs

When I originally did this build I used the old springs and did the SOA mod. But this put the trailer a couple inches too high for my liking and the spring were really shot and needed to be replaced anyway.

So after a bunch of research I decided to replace the OEM springs with a set that had a slight lift and go back to a SUA configuration.

I went with the Superlift 01-511F-6 which have a 1" lift and are made for the front of a Jeep CJ3 1949-1953. These springs were a direct bolt on for the shackles and on the front I had to find a sleeve. I found what I was looking for a Lowes and was all set.

You can see in these pics that with just 1" lift I can run 31" tires and be level with my truck running 33" tires.
