My new '87 Ramcharger build thread

The van is leaf spring front? I've seen an A100 converted using late 60's Power Wagon parts, didn't have to change the master cylinder over for disk brakes and such. That van looked too top heavy for me, but was probably only running 31" tires. Kind of like this, but with a 440:

Yeah it's leaf spring and a solid axle in front, 8 3/4 in the rear. Biggest issue is less than 3 feet between the axle and the tranny output.

Had my first road trip with Ryan this weekend! Nearly two years, and I've only been driving the Ramcharger for commute and groceries.

My daughter wanted to visit the Sacramento Anime Show with her friends. My son and I attended as guardian / chaperone types, and I was able to visit 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers for some Ramcharger bits.

Though it was a city trip, I hate the concrete jungles and trying to negotiate them:

Had another outing with my Ramcharger not too long ago. Went from the north Sacramento Valley where our ranch is, visited my aunt and uncle in the Cascades, summits over 6800'. :campfire:

Ryan drove beautifully and enjoyed the mountain air:

Today, after nearly two years, I installed the headliner from a parts car I purchased recently. Will be nice to have the quiet cabin back after so long. Second, I installed a grab handle for my wife. Nice me. :)

Next will be changing out the CAD front axle with an earlier axle and hubs, the non-LSD rear axle for an LSD axle, and the cracked tailgate. :coffeedrink:

Baby steps. Since my last update, I've been cleaning the yard of Montero parts cars and a few odd & ends.

This weekend passed, I installed a new license plate holder, and will be saving the Ramsey parts for another pending project.
