Smokin' Please, oh please leave the wood grain! That car takes me back to being 10 years old in the mid 80's, riding around in the back of one of those with our rich friends. We were poor so we drove Toyota's.

IMHO, one of the coolest mods for those is putting in the old grille from the early models. Such retro coolness!
I miss mine. :sigh:

thats very nice and getting harder to find. my grandpa used to sell AMC's new until chrysler bought them out. he and my grandmother used drive these all the time. very nice trucks in the 80's. lots of memories in that picture. +1 on leaving the wood grain.

I've got some concerns about the woodgrain. It is a bit faded in spots and there are 3 areas of rust (not too bad) under the vinyl woodgrain siding. Would I destroy heritage if I removed the woodgrain and went with just a new paint job?

could always get new woodgrain, I dont know about the GW but I know you can get woodgrian for IH Travel alls so I think you sould be able to get it for gw.
