My new project

New year = new project :jumping: so I got a Defender 110 Tdi 300 later 1994.
I was unable to resist purchasing this Defy which was from a desease state with only 105.000 km on the clock.
On the tiop of that @ 30000 km due to a recall from LR the Defender was fitted with a new gearbob and transfer case..
Is going very nice and only have some corrosion spots on the bottom of the doors due to a reaction between the steel frame and the alum panels.
The first job was remove the Defender strips from the sides of the vehicle.
Next job is fitting the secon battery, fridge, spot lights, engine heat alarm, Mud centre console with volts, oil pressure, and the clock. On the place where is the clock I will fit a VDO tacho.
Now I just wonder if I am going to keep the Range Rover Hiline or sell it,
Here are some photos of the "clean canvas" to start having fun.
Cheers

In the last few days I fitted an engine saver alarm which monitors the water level and the temperature of the head. This is very important in a tdi300 engine.
Also I fitted a Mud centre console where I plan to fit a oil preassure gauge and two volt meters, one for the main battery and the other for the second battery
I order the console with 3 switches, one for the spot light, one for the fog and the other for a good rear spot light. Also i fitted a extra power point for the GPS
Talking about the GPS now in Queensland is illegal to hold the GPS with a suction cup on the windscreen so I relocate it on the dash.
The Mud console have plenty room for a UHF radio and a stereo which will be with a USB port.
The home page for the Mud consoles is HERE
another job during the week was the fitting of a second battery and the Waeco 50 lts fridge.
I fitted a portable 80 amps battery on the cargo area next to the fridge so I can use the battery on the tent if I like to do it so.
Cheers

Thank you Tim, it is nice to having you arround in The Portal.
There are 2 Rovers now at home, the rangie and Rustic the Defender. The Rangie is for sale but some times we think...........keep the bugger!
It would be nice if you and your family coming north for a break. Is just 3000 km up the hill :)

Cheers mate and best wishes

more gear on "Rustic"

On the last couple of weeks i added more gear on Rustic to make it suitable for long trips.

I fitted a pair of Hella Rallye 2000 spot lights, a GME TX3440 UHF radio and the VDO oil pressure gauge.

Looks good. :victory:
