My New XJ.

BlackClassic

If Not Now When?
They if I am correct stop putting the 8.25 after 99, some 99's also come with the D35. I was lucky as my classic was a 99 with the 8.25. Boo-yeah! Your jeep is real nice and I like althose fancy extras whether they work or not. Looks like a good buy.

I got new lift struts from Rockauto for $13 a piece, StrongArm brand I believe and have been holding up well. Makes a huge difference with working struts.

Avg Litres per 100km oorr for you 'Muricans that would be 16 MPG Hopefully some new spark plugs, an oil change, and some other general maintenance should boost this number a little.

Looks pretty good. I believe the ET on the OHC is how long you've been driving it...When I installed the OHC in my 97 XJ I reset the numbers and that ET started running time. Can't remember if it only tracks time when you're physically moving or whenver the key and car is turned on.

Leather seat, check local JY's for a replacement leather seat and just swap the bases over. If you find a matching seat from the JY, take the base off, they're charge you a lot more for a power seat than a regular one.

I think I need a bigger truck!

My 2000 has the 8.25 (29 spline), they used it in the Liberties as well...up until 2003 or 2004 at least. Only the later model Cherokees with ABS came with a D35.

Oh and all Cherokees pretty much get this seat cracking...

Mine had it on the sides of my cloth seats where the vinyl was. You can get an upholstery shop to fix that...would be worth it, the interior looks mint otherwise. AS for the tires... they look uber bald, sketchy really. Your rear leafs are sacked too...about where mine sat. Replace them don't do an add-a-leaf, OEM are cheap and not hard to replace or expensive to have done...or a small lift?

Yes. I wondered about getting the seat fixed.
Otherwise the Interior is MINT.

The tires were mangled. I'm now sitting on some Goodyear Wranlger SR/A's I had sitting in my garage which were the stock tires for my 2008 JK. They are 225 75 R 16. So 29.3 they fill the wheel well a little better. Only issue is they Barely fit in the stock spare spot because I have the upgraded sound system the speakers in the back are very close to the tire. Ill have to take a picture and post it.

Funny you mentioned AAL. I was wondering if it would really do anything for my jeep because the original leafs are so saggy.

If I were to lift I'd get the OME 2". But I'm worried that it will be to much and look funky with my tires I have on there. Any ideas on how bad this will look? I am a fan of upgrading stock parts when replacing them. But maybe a set of stock leafs is just the ticket I need? Chime in guys let me know what you think. And where do you guys get the stock leafs? Chrysler? Gotta be a cheaper source then that!

What tire size do you have? When I first upgraded my suspension (I went with OME 2"), I had 235/75/15s.

Edit: I saw you have 225/70/16s.

Here is a picture anyway with 235/75/15s.

I am running 225 75 R 16s. So 29.3 diameter. I believe 235s are 29.88? I would love to see some pictures. From the side front and back. Maybe a few angle shots? Thanks!

Edit. Just realized you are running 15 inch rims would make the 235 75s more like a 28.8? Which would be small then I am running. Interesting. Any more pictures?

Ride looks good McObray.

So I did some searching into OEM Leafs. Here in Canada they want 350 a leaf from MOPAR. what a rip off!
Quadratech has medium duty factory replacements for 115 a pop. but then shipping and duty and brokerage at the border who knows how much id actually be saving.

We will se.

Also with me having the 242, and an auto adn being post 96. the likely hood fo vibrations from a lift without a SYE is higher then most.

Still unsure on what to do.

My 2000 with a 3" lift and the NP231 howled like a banshee after the lift. Trans and TCase drop helped a bit, HD SYE kit solved the issue 100%. You can get SYE's for the 242, I believe there are a few options out there...hack and tap style. I would suggest aftermarket leaves, Rough Country is available in Canada from Lowriders in Surrey (I know, counter intuitive, Lowriders for your lifts parts) but their prices are excellent, the quality is good and their support is stellar!

http://www.lowriders.ca/

No affiliation, just had excellent service. The shipping was very reasonable too. Call them and ask for rates and options. With the exception of the Johnny Joints in my Gen 1 LCA's I have been VERY happy with all of the RC products I have on my Jeep (2.2 Shocks, Quick Disconnects, 2" lift Shackles, LCA's etc).

If you look at a small lift, like 2-3" with your tires it will look great.

Engine Coolant

Still undecided on a lift vs. stock suspension

anyway i have a question about engine coolant.

The stuff in my jeep is Red. AKA longlife (from my understanding)

I went to Canadian Tire, pickedup som premixed long life Motomaster stuff

Opened it up. its green.

now on the back it says that its good for use with any colour coolant.

But i am a little skeptical as I havent dealt with engine coolant at all before.

Any recommendations? Do I just use it? Canadian Tire wont take it back cause the seal is open.
