My personal journey into the expedition lifestyle

Thanks, I am looking into the way the meta data in the pictures is used and it seems that if I look at my pictures on my computer in Picasa it shows the location and direction. On the Picasa web album it shows the location on the right side of the page in Google maps.

Welcome, I look forward to hearing more about Oz. Also the disco. My wife drive an 03 so I look forward to hearing what upgrades you do.

Hey thanks!

I am still in the planning stages considering the budget and the priority of any mods. Currently I am looking at tires as the first priority and I am not sure weather to go for a solid A/T or a mild M/T with a 50 mm lift. I am also designing a storage solution for the cargo area of the vehicle, similar to what is available here from Black Widow products.

I am joining the local Land Rover club as I will gain experience on their organized trips and vehicle knowledge from the experts. They have some minimum requirements for their trips so I will take that as the best starting point.

Regards,
Tony

Kluger?!?!?

Minor Hijack, but this stuck out to me in your opening post . . .Toyota makes a vehicle called a Kluger?!?!?

Now when I read this I was thinking more in terms of Kludger rather than Kluger. I think Kludger would probably be the greatest vehicle name of all time. Just to clarify: "Kluger" apparently is from the Yiddish "clever". I guess that makes sense why Toyota would call a Highlander a Kluger. Meh.

"Kludge", however in case you didn't know, means to (general) any construction or practice, typically inelegant, designed to solve a problem temporarily or expediently. Therefore, "Kludger" would be somebody that can cobble something together to get the job done. What an awesome name for a utility vehicle!!!

Kluger? Not so much. But Kludger! I think I'm going to start referring to my FZJ80 as a Toyota Kludger.

OK, hijack over.
