Ive never messed with suspenssion other than replacing shocks and struts, balljoints etc....

I get the leaf block concept but whats the add a leaf? Is it a complete leaf spring replacement or you just add an extra leaf to the stock stack?
Will the weldtech kit be alot more involved to install?

The weldtec kit will be the same as installing a AV kit, possibly a little simpler, as you're not having to install drop down brackets etc. but you will have to mess with your ball joints, and I don't think you would with the action van kit.

Im definately leaning torwards the weldtec kit now after reading up on it.

Debating on the 4" vs the 6"

I dont understand why the 4" has the options of standard radius arms or extended, does extended just give you more wheel travel if offroad?

And with the 6" lift i see the add a leaf option or 3" block for the rear.... why not a 6" block?
Is the add a leaf the way to go and is it easy to add?

Extended arms translate to more travel in a larger arc.
6" lift blocks would be sketchy. Think of leverage again.
Adding a leaf, means removing the spring pack that's on the vehicle now, then taking the pack apart to add another leaf, thus increasing: height, load capacity, stiffness.
Don't forget new ubolts when you futz with your leaf spring pack. They stretch.

A factory service manual (it's a set, actually. eBay has them for your specific year) and YouTube can help with most any repair.
The FSM should be your first purchase after any vehicle is bought.
First purchase, otherwise how will you know how to fix it the right way when it breaks?

You don't want to use blocks at all if you can avoid it. People do everyday but it's far from ideal. You don't want to ness with axle wrap or the other negatives of running blocks.

I've got the standard radius arms on my van, I can always upgrade to the extended arms if I see fit to later. The longer arms are easier at the bushing end and the camber/caster changes thru the suspension movement are less drastic.

Im on weldtecs site and entering my vehicle info and options to the different kits available to see what costs will be and not sure why the 4" lift says $900 is the price after I enter my info
weldtec.jpg
but then down in the description it says...

"Kit includes:
Bent I beams
modified stock radius arms
4″ coils
4 FOX 2.0 shocks
Rear add a leaf

Kit Price $2050 "

And then im looking at the octotillo 4" lift and it comes with exact same stuff but nothing for the rear and it costs more.
Whats up with this?

Do yourself a favor and call Jeremy at Weldtec. Great guy, easy to talk with. I've had the 4 inch Ocotillo kit now for almost a full year, and I have no complaints about it.

My brother has the Ocotillo kit installed on his rig (E350) and I got to rally it in Baja last February. We had two big motos in the back (800XC and XR650R), all of our stuff for a month, and we could rally 50+mph down Baja gravel. If I wasn't going 4WD, I'd install this in a heartbeat.

I've seen those wheels on a E350 chassis ambulance. Except they were bare or clear coated aluminum. I think they came with the chassis. They were likely an option on the one ton vans. I think the trucks we had with them were 2010 MY. I'm guessing they started off as bare or cleared aluminum and were painted black along the way.
