got here shoved back in the garage to start on phase 3, the motor swap. took some doing to shoe horn her in there, but this is the last time she will run with what the VW engineers thought was adequate. i have really tried to like the VW wasserboxer, had many of them, this will be my 4th subaru powered syncro, im done messing with the wasserleaker
I'm really enjoying watching this project come together. I always wanted a Syncro and the time and space to re-do it. For now I'll have to live vicariously through this thread.
thanks, i love my shop and am lucky to have the space, but, hmm, maybe we have even met at various events. restoring motorcycles is my passion to the point where i run a small shop these days specializing in restoration (check out my Shop Dog Motors facebook page for some of my builds), this is syncro #6 for me as well as many many many air cooled VW's over the years (still miss my 2 karmann ghias), and i have, and still contract as a graphic designer in the bicycle and technical apparel industry for the last 15 yrs.
not getting a whole lot of project work done these days, to busy training the newest shop dog, Rosylaine (Rosy). she has some big shoes to fill from the 2 previous shop dogs we lost in recent years, but shes trying hard to make them proud. 10 week young Old English Sheepdog here.
Coguzzi, really nice work! I hate to hear you parted with your sweet white CCV top van but looks like you're carrying on with another cool project, or 2 or 3. I'll be following along!
