Wow, that light bar mount could substitute for a roll bar. Why did they make it so heavy?

Did you choose the Tmax dual battery system over the National Luna for a particular reason? Price?

Great looking jeep! Looking forward to more...

Yes the light bar mounts are heavy and would probably add some protection to the windshield frame.
I went with the tmax due to price. Found it on eBay for around $100

So, can you give a comparison between your Defender and your Jeep? I know there is a large age difference and your Defender wasn't a 4 door but what would you say are the real differences between the two?

In short they are night and day. I'm a die hard defender fan but after having one as my DD for only a couple months I knew it wasn't going to work out. Wife hated it and couldn't drive it, RHD was hard to get use to, my son cried every time I tried to put him in it, old, hot in the summer, cold in the winter...I could go on and on.
I would love to own another defender but not as a DD. Now if I could get a 2012 defender here in the USA it would be a different story. But since I can't I have the next best thing...my wife's jeep.
The jeep is none of the above. Get in start it up and drive. It's the most capable vehicle I've ever owned and still my wife drives it 30+ miles to work everyday at 70+mph with her heated leather seats.
She's happy = I'm happy.

I hear ya. I have had two Jeep's in the last few years. A 2011 and a 2013 both 4 door and the 2013 being a JKUR. The 2013 being extremely nice with leather and heated seats. Had the 2.5" and then 3.5" AEV lift on it and it was a really great riding vehicle for what it was. Your Jeep has come a long ways and is looking good! Boy do I miss mine!

Your defender was bone stock, correct? You hadn't done anything to it in terms of "re-furbing" it?

Reason I ask is because we are looking to get a 5 door 110 imported as a 3rd vehicle and get it re-furbed. Wondering if this would make it better than your experience with yours? If you have seen any that have been re-furbed and thought they would do better has a DD or not.

Correct mine was an 85 and hadn't had any improvements to "modernize" it. I'm sure if your plan is to buy one and re-furb for occasional use I'm sure it would be fine. I simply didn't have to money or time to take on something like that with mine.

Few quick up dates. Finally got my battery system in as well as new switches for the lights.

Since you are one of the few people I have seen with an Indel B fridge. How has it held up for you over the past year and half? Are you doing anything special in terms of your 12v connection?

Installed and forgotten about! No problems. Can't add the snorkel I want because of clearance issues would be my only complaint

Haven't really up dated this like I had hoped but been out using the jeep for what is was made for. Done a few small things like body armor, steel fenders, removed bumper. Wheeled a ton here in Kentucky and have been back to moab.
